Wouldn't mess with it. If you had a 5.0 with a supercharger on it I would say remove them. If you even still care about answers....lol

Even with a blower it really only matters if you plan on hotlapping

Risk I'd not want to take. All my boosted Mustangs I removed the cats. Pretty common thing to do. Absolutely the bottle neck being boosted.

Take the OEM pipe off the truck, break out and dump out the ceramic from the inside of the converter, reinstall. Visual inspection passed. 🤷 Use HP Tuners to change the testing for the rear O2 sensors to error not reported.

I ran OEM catalytic converters on my highly modified 2002 Avalanche for 10 years without any issues. OEM hp was 285; modified supercharged, cammed hp was 475. I would rather give up a few hp than potentially deal with the consequences with LE or with stinky exhaust.
