If i remove my cats, is there a way to not have a CEL? Will there be any horsepower gains?
If you remove the catalytic converters you would need a custom tune to eliminate CELs and make more power. Unfortunately, several years ago the EPA started fining tuners that were doing just that. Since then any reputable tuner will not release a tune for no Cats unless you can prove it is strictly off-road.
There is no point in doing this, you will receive no noticable increase in power. Cats these days flow really well, its not the 70s anymore with restrictive cats.
You can still get tuned for it but they cant clear the CEL and unless you're boosted, you don't really need a tune update anyways. Have fun with the CEL though, there's ways around it but it's kind of pointless unless you're supercharged and melting them
Note: removal of a catalytic convertor or any other emissions related device is actually a federal offense.
I'm a little surprised the forum allows tips and tricks to be shared of how to do it considering we aren't allow to say we drive above the speed limit.

I don't think anyone here said how to work around it. Did I miss that?
You can either trick the second downstream sensors mechanically or use a flash...
