Projector Headlights
Thanks! Yeah it's my first headlight retrofit too but since I have the extra set of headlights I got for cheap its not a huge deal
I'm looking at using the new morimoto mini h1s with a 5500k bulb and a halo around the inside of the shroud. It'll be flat black with the projector shrouds painted ignot silver.

I have the ds2's and my guy told me he wouldn't want to install them again because it was such a tight fit, he said the h1's would fit reallllly well with no-to barely any cutting to get them to mount well. So at least that part shouldn't be too hard for you! I was thinking about adding a set of the h1's where my highs are and going quad, but the others work so well it's mainly a vanity thing, so I haven't rushed to do it.

Hmm, he got back to me quickly in the past, hopefully he does by today. It ended up fitting fine and working out, but he made it sound like there was a lot more cutting then would be needed with some smaller ones, it was also his first 2015, so that might have something to do with it.
The round shrouds are too big to fit at the top of the lo/beam reflector, so they end up cutting the top part. To make things symmetrical, they also cut the bottom part. The end result is a shroud that ends up being square, but with a round projector that has better optical properties than a square projector.
I was also adamant about using a square lens with a square projector, but that pretty much tied me down to a single projector and only two choices of shrouds.
With a round lens/projector, I have dozens of options. I went Mini H1 v7.0 because it offers the sharpest cutoff and most output in a size that looks good on a stock headlight. I could have gone D2S, but those get very expensive very quick and its more work to get them to fit. Time was of the essence in my build since I wanted to have the converted headlights as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.

Here's what I have seen so far, talking to multiple guys that do these conversions.
