I'm with this guy..........AA crashes............I might get 1 song out of Pandora then the next one won't play, I get the blue circle forever than the screen says "something must have gone wrong" and won't reload even if unplugged and restarted. "Ok Google" can't seem to find her way out of a parking lot lately and if she does she misses the target and has me go in circles. AA use to work better before my Sync 3.0 update was pushed and AA was more intuitive too!

To the guys running AA and using it for streaming music, any chance the sputtering and quitting is due to your signal or provider? I ran Google Play Music in my truck from SE WI to NE WI and right around mid-state Verizon has signal issues, sure enough, right around mid-state, AA had issues. Are you having the same problem when you run Google Maps?

You know that's interesting too so I'm on Verizion and I have one of the newer (well ok 2 year old but updated OS) android deivces. More importatnly when I use spotify in the veichles I use playlists that are pre-downloaded. So I'm not pulling data for tunes. I did have it play some there where it ended the list and went to similar suggestion automatically and still worked well.

But I'm in/near city and usually have solid signal. I still say a bigger part of it is the software - app specific.

making phone calls - responding to texts, and etc by voice and just a quick look at the screen is nice too though.

I do wish that the audio display was separate from 8" Android Auto display. I would love to be able to switch radio stations or between FM/Sirius/Bluetooth audio directly, and see what station or song is playing without leaving Android auto. I know Honda does this on their minivan, and I believe the Expedition shows audio info on the dash screen as well.

I use it for waze and to use the steering wheel button as "ok google, play xyz by black sabbath" or "play Friday by Rebeca black" for example....

One sec just got back from punching myself in the face for the Rebecca black comment "

Only real issue I have so far with AA now is I cant stream a podcast while using AA. One or the other. Ill try and figure that out though.

I hear apple car play isn't much better. Unless again you use apple apps with it.

but whatever.

I don't get the whole using the radio with android auto. I don't use the radio if I'm using android auto - have no desire to do so. But I could see how using it that way could be an issue.

Go read the apple play thread 1st, not any better. Besides, iPhones are for people missing a certain skill.

This
I use AA to steam Amazon or Pandora if not listening to radio or lossless on my USB. And I have no trouble at all unless I park in Kirkwood Mo. Horrible signal there or I get way out of town on back roads. AA does not crash on my LG phones running Oreo.

Android Auto using Galaxy S9 here and don't have any issues. I use either Amazon music or Google Play Music to stream music, Google Maps for navigation and no issues there either. It works very well for me.
