Default Locking wheel nuts?

I'm sure it has been talked about before, but I have a heck of a time with the search function and can't find anything.I'm curious as to what everyone is using for locking lug nuts on their new F-150.I just have the stock 18" wheels on my 16 XLT Sport 4x4,but still want locks on them.I kinda prefer the external spline type lock(gorilla nuts),verses the center keyway type.Any info is appreciated.

The gorillas your referring too are only meant for aftermarket wheels. Your only option is the one you get from the dealership which is compatible with the OEM wheels. See pic for reference as how lug nuts/bolt sits onto wheel

I just had these installed this weekend with my tire rotate. My stock lugs were already swollen from the cheap caps Ford puts on. Shouldn't be a problem going forward.

I use McGuard center key nuts and have since 1980 on my first Jeep with the white spoked wagon wheels. Still the same high quality and still Made in the USA.

Why do you day they are not compatible Ricky? Discount tire didn't have any concerns with it.

I can't see any reason to have locking nuts on stock wheels. Heck, I just installed aftermarket wheels which means I have no use for my stock, chrome wheels. I've been advertising them for a week with zero interest from anyone. This basically tells me no one wants to buy them and I can't imagine anyone trying to steal them from a vehicle.

Ricky I think the stock wheel uses an acorn nut with a 60 degree taper.Gorilla has that spec.Just wondering what the other options are.

Yeah, the only reason I bought the locking kit was because it was cheaper than ordering the lugs individually (at least from what I could tell on gorillas site). I'd rather not have to keep track of the lock personally. Either way, I'm better off now than with the stock lugs.

Oops my bad. Sorry, just googled the gorilla lugs and yes they are compatible. It's just when you look at any aftermarket lugs with the external spline and then you have an OEM wheel. Just can't put two and two together as the OEM's have a different seating position in the wheel. Just don't want anyone putting wrong lugs nuts with a different seating as this can damage there wheels or even worse fall off while driving.
