I had done some research online, numerous forums, F150 and other suspension forums. It seemed to be the smartest choice, a 2" front level on stock front end suspension components.
I have a friend who manages a truck accessory and modification shop near my hometown. They do numerous lifts, levels and other suspension work on all truck brands. They mainly deal in BDS and Zone off-road applications. I had a 6" radius arm lift on my 08 Ford F350 Harley Davidson Edition diesel that they installed. I recently sold that truck so I could purchase a 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch.
I just picked up my 15 King Ranch this afternoon and I'm very pleased how the 2" level looked. I was looking for a better stance than stock but non lifted. This addition will allow me to install a 33" tire on my truck, which should be just what I'm looking for. I will post a picture of the before and after the Zone 2" level.

I have a f150 2wd and want to level my truck. I was planning on using Bilstein 5100 for front and rears. A reputable local suspension shop want $1300 with parts, labor, and alignment. They don’t want to install if I buy them online. Is this reasonable?
Also, is the install very complicated or can I take it to any local auto repair shop like Midas? Thank you.

Reasonable that they do not want to install what they do not sell, absolutely. They make profits of the parts they install, and if anything goes wrong and they do not sell the parts then they have to listen to a customer complain on something they didn't sell.
Not a complicated install at all, any shop can do it, will they though, only way to know is to call around and check.

You're looking at about $800 in labor. Sounds excessive if you ask me. Shop it out, find a local mechanic is your best bet if you can't do the install yourself. Alignment is usually around $100 at most places. Just for comparison sake I had a friend of a friend mechanic install an entire lift for $500. I know that isn't the norm but point being is you can shop it out and should get a way better price for doing a level and swapping out shocks.
Do the headlights need to be re-aimed after leveling up the front?
Personally, I would look to re-aim the headlights whether I raise the front or lower the back (lowering shackles.).. or both.. As someone that drives to work at 05:00 daily, improperly aligned headlights can be a PITA.
Quick question: Is "leveling" the F150 front to rear done purely for aesthetics? Or is there some technical reason?
Majority (like mine) it is done for aesthetics (some will say they did it for bigger wheel fitment, I think this falls into the aesthetics bucket), the minority is done for a bit extra ground clearance for a bit of off-road driving.

Thanks! I actually like the factory rake. My concern is with a "leveled" truck, when I put 2000lbs of sod in the back that it will sag a lot.

Many have said they like the look of the rake, which will look better when carrying a load. For the amount I carry in the back of mine (mostly loads to the dump or purchasing something to bring it home), it does not effect me 90% of the time.
I do tow a Pop-up trailer but accounted for that when doing the level, still have about 1/2" of rake which is not even noticeable but allows me to hook the trailer up without any sag.
