Its just a CV shaft, don't let it worry you.
The part #s are TX738 rt side and TX739 left side. (rock auto)
They only cost around $100 each and only an hour labor to change !
I say go for it, make your truck look the way you want!
The worry is about premature wear... not immediate failure.

They usually make quite a bit of noise to let you no they are going bad.
What's up guys, I have a 2017 F-150 and I plan on adding a leveling kit. I currently haven't bought the kit yet. The rear fender off the ground measures 41" and the front fender measures 37". This is from stock. Do I need a 2" kit or 2.5" kit to level the truck out? I don't want the front higher, I basically want the truck level. Also do I need to add rear blocks, if so what size do you guys think?
That said, I wanted a very slight rake, so went with a 2" autospring spacer on the front.
After installing it, it was almost perfectly level - if anything, I felt it looked a little nose high - esp if there was anything in the back (I think just the weight of the diamondback cover weighed it down just enough to look off - though measuring it, it was darn near perfect).
I ended up replacing the rear 2" block with a 2.5" block to get just enough rake to look right to me and be able to have something in the back without squatting.
Now I just need to decide on some larger tires to fill out the wheel wells. Leaning toward 295/70r18 34" Yokohama Geolandar G015's (the others I am looking at - today anyway - are Michelin Defenders or Nitto Terra Grappler G2s).
