Sorry if this has already been covered but Im about ready to order a kit and want to make the right choice.

Are you guys getting the full measurement of lift on the advertised kits? I have heard the weight of the motor may bring it down some, if so how much can i expect? To be dead even level by measuring on my truck i need 2.25” but i see some people claiming to be level on 2.5” kits with similar trucks.(2wd v8).

also are there any options on the rear to get 1/2” or 3/4” lift on a 2wd? Milling down a 1” block? I wouldn’t mind a slight rake but I believe a 2.5 front and 1” rear block may give me slightly more rake than i would prefer.

I have a 5.0 and a ready lift 2.25" level left a slight rake on my truck.
1st pic bone stock.
2nd pic 2.25" level with 275/70/18 BFG ATs and rear wheel well liners.

The number of kits offered is very confusing. All I want (I think ) is a 2" lift to the front of my Crew Cab 4x4 w EB engine.

Hope this doesn't get lost in 116 pages of info but maybe it will help someone......I installed a 2" Rough Country leveling kit on my 2016 F150 FX4. The instructions or most videos do not mention that the top strut mount needs to be rotated 180 degrees. I wasted hours thinking I was doing something wrong or they sent me the wrong part because with the donut attached to the top of the strut the strut only aligns 180 degrees from the original position. Swapping the drivers side and passenger side struts does not work. You will need to know someone with a press or get the spring compression loaner tool at the parts store. Also good pry bars make a big difference. I was trying to use a crowbar and while it worked it was a fight. Also a good impact gun is a must. I have a 450ft/lb Ridgid 18V and it did the job easily. I jacked up both sides and loosened all the necessary nuts and bolts. Prying the struts out and reinstalling after the donut is install is the toughest part. When reinstalling, once you get it close to dropping in the lower CA I used a mall to tap it in the rest of the way. Loosing up the lower CA bolts at the frame really helps to allow the lower CA to be pried down. While I took my time the total install was about 7 hours and this included going to a friends shop and rotating the top strut mount and cleanup. In the end I am happy with the results. With a full tank (36 gal) of gas the truck is at 40" from ground to fender flare at both front and rear.

I know Phil ...7 hours seems excessive. I did take my time as front ends somewhat intimidate me. If I had to do it again I could easily shave a couple hours off.

LOL It would take me two days and might not get done. I will definitely leave to a Pro. Now could someone help me narrow down the 2 million kits offered and which one to get?

I would go with a brand name kit.
And look thru this thread.......you will find a truck that sits how you want and then private message that person to ask what kit they used.

The 2.25" ready lift left my 5.0 equipped truck with around 1" of rake still.

that sounds about right. i want a slight rake bc if loaded, which is rare, i don't want to look like a low rider truck.
