Hey guys. Looking to get about 1-2 inch level done. My tire shop recommended I go with bilstein 5100? I think he said. For front. And then do 2 inch block in back.l taking off my current 1 block. Truck is fx4 4x4. With alignment he is asking for 700. Is this fair to you guys ? Trust me I wish I could do it myself. Thanks fellas

Why is tire shop recommending this set up? I had a shop recommend bilsteins on the front due to less wear if going off road more. I don't offroad so kept with level.
What are your goals here? Will keep everything stock after level ie tires / wheels? Or what are your plans for tires / wheels with level?
I want to put slightly bigger AT tires on stock 20 in wheels. And went to bring the truck up 1-2 inches all the way around. I use bed a lot and need the rake. Would you just do a level instead of bilstien? Thanks

I had been debating this for the last couple of years. I really wanted to Bilstein's based on what I had read. When I went to my local shop that does a ton of volume and also does a lot of work on my Jeep, they asked why. The only answer I could come up with was that I read it was a better way to go. The Bilstein guys love their leveling struts and I have no doubt that it rides great.
For what I needed and the cost differential, I opted for a 2" level in front. My truck rides great and the handling actually improved but I think a lot of that has to do with getting rid of the factory Hankooks. So, in a 4x4, a 2" level and keeping the factory block in back gives you a pretty leveled truck. I'd go that route and if you feel you need some rake, then get a bigger block in back. It's an easy swap. I've been extremely happy with just a 2" level in front and glad I went that route.
Here it is with 20 bags of mulch and a 175lb neighbor. 20" Roush MT Wheels and 33.5" Tires.

thanks for the feed back. Something I will re consider as price difference would be decent amount.
So doing a level does not affect the ride ?

Not for me it didn't. And coming from the Jeep world, it was a concern for me. With a Jeep, you can lift or you can do a spacer lift which is essentially what the leveling kit is. On my Jeep, it was a noticeable difference (negative) and after a couple of years, I ditched the spacer lift and went with a full suspension lift. After speaking with my shop, they assured me it wasn't the same and 90% of what they do on the F150 is a level.
I trusted them, saved money over Bilstein's and am really happy with the ride.
Just curious what brand are the tires on your truck? I like the look of them!
Thanks. They are 2018 Roush F150 take offs that I found on craigslist after a couple years of looking for the right wheels for me. Looks like they can be purchased online as well.
