The only thing I can think of that is back there is the Jack and tire iron behind the passenger rear seat. That being said, give the backrest of the driver side rear a push, even though there is no reachable release the seat back will fold down, wondering if it is loose in the latching mechanism.

As of Ford not looking at it because of the level, they can not void a warranty on anything that is not directly affected by the level. They may be able to say "Ball Joints wore prematurely because of an angle caused by the level, so we can not warranty them", but they can not claim something along the lines of "Your door latches failed because of the level", two unrelated parts.

There is a known issue with the rear leaf springs fetching up and causing a clunk, not sure if you have seen/heard this one. I simply put some general purpose grease between the leaf and the plastic slider and it went completely away.

Anyway, best of luck! Let us know what you find.
Thanks, Canon. Yea I was looking at the BFG's with white lettering but I wasn't sure it went well with the color scheme of the truck, I also found a great deal on the BFG's w/o white lettering. I think those tires w/ white lettering look real good tho.

I appreciate the reply, and yea I wasn't even sure what thread to post this question to because I personally don't see how a 2" level could be related to this noise, but I noticed the noise on the first test drive after the level and new shoes were on. It wasn't like this started days/weeks later and its definitely not a subtle noise that I could have missed before.

I will double check the seat latch to see if anything is loose and I'll also check the jack/tire iron to see if they could be the culprit. The strange thing is that from the drivers seat, it seems like the clunking is coming from up high, maybe even from the ceiling area behind the moon roof and right above the back window. If the jack/tire iron and the seat latching mechanism are secure, I will have a buddy sit back there while I drive around to see if we can isolate where the sound it coming from a little better.

Also, good to know about Ford and the warranty. It just seems like, even thought I didn't mod anything specifically with the suspension, they would still deem the noise to be associated with the change in ride height with the extended front struts. If it gets to the point where I need to take it in, I'll be crossing my fingers that you are right.

hey guys, i'm new to this forum as i am a first time ford owner with a 2018 fx4. what made you go with the 2" level kit rather than a short lift? I originally wanted the 3" lift from RC however after looking into it, i'm not sure it will work due to the center wheel to fender is 22" which they claim over that won't work (and also want me to use a front wheel spacer with stock wheel/tire setup). The 4" looked like more of a project to install than i was hoping to get into. I had a level kit on my previous truck and wasn't very impressed with the appearance which is why i was thinking a small lift may be better on my new truck. i would appreciate your thoughts and opinions. Thanks!

PCR- Looks like you're in the BOI area. Who did you have install your 5100s on the front? Did you buy them locally?

Hey IdahoCrew! Yea, I’m in Boise. I had John over at Boise 4x4 install the 5100s. I bought the front and rear Bilstein kit from Stage3 when they had it on sale. John charged me for a couple hours of labor and did a good job. After I got the tires from Discount Tire I took it over to Les Schwab for an alignment. I probably could have saved some time by finding a shop to do it all, but I’m happy with how it all turned out. A few places wouldn’t install the shocks since I bought them elsewhere, or wanted a ridiculous amount to do the job.

Doesn't cost much more to just buy aftermarket wheels and it's a lot safer. You don't even need to google it, just search this forum for failed spacers.

Default 17 Screw w/ factory 20's Fx4

What's the biggest tire I would want to go with, with a 1.75 level up front and stock height in back for no rubbing? Also I don't want to run spacers either.

Love your truck. Same as mine, except mine is Magma Red. Sent you a PM.

The Bora spacers aren't going to fail, and even with the cheap crap found on Ebay, it more often than not installer error. Also, never seen a decent looking aftermarket wheel, though I'll admit I'm biased towards OEM in general, and particularly the wheels I have currently.
