Like Oilfield said, they're for shifting in manual mode (M), but can also be used to lock out higher gears (hit + once to see the gear indicators on the dash, then hit - to remove numbers from the display, limiting what gears the truck will use).

Basically, if you're saying it's "normal" for it to drop a connection when the 2 devices are 12" apart and neither is being touched, then I say you're crazy. That's not acceptable.
To clarify, I'm only talking about the phone's behavior, not the random disconnect. How the phone pauses upon that disconnect, that is normal. As for the actual disconnect action, it could be the phone, but SYNC seems more likely to me.

Right, I know the music will stop coming out of the speaking when the BT connection drops. That's the same if any source disconnects. This was random pauses while Sync claimed the device was still connected (per the display on the screen). It was after pushing the play button a couple of times that the device connecting pop-up would show, indicating the connection had dropped and was being re-established. Sometimes that would occur after the music resumed and paused a 2 or 3 times.

Did you try and put it in drive first and then hit plus? I have the floor shift and it has to be in drive to change.

I have mine on the center console stalk although the function should be the same.
With the car in drive (an rolling even);
first press - the gears illuminate with the current choice in RED.
second press - moves to next higher or lower available gear, releasing or locking out said gear.

So generally, you have to press it a couple of times to get things going.
I find this function really handy.
Around town, it keeps the car from upshifting to 4th, 5th or even 6th which controls speed(saves brakes!) and allows for quick acceleration when needed. It's convenient because the car will utilize the remaining gears as needed. This makes it WAY easier than M mode.
On the highway, you can downshift without accelerating. This comes in handy on some hills and saves gas.

Sounds right. Sorry, I don't use the M mode much. I find it more trouble than my 5sp manual LOL.

Here's a tip....use a Ford Lincoln dealership for services, much better customer service than Ford only dealerships IMO.

I've seen it go both ways, its just the luck of the draw.

I have started a thread for those of you that may be having issues with your Halogen to LED conversion setup. I have received private messages and thread posts requesting to start the new thread not to bash Raptor Retrofit or Dawson, but to have open information on what issues you are having, how you fixed them, and if the issues stayed away for good.

I am adding LED driving lights to my bull bar. I got a wiring harness and lights off of Ebay.
Is there an existing path through the firewall to the cabin that I can use to run the wires?
