So if you're looking for a tonneau maybe look at one for the older model year as they are probably the same just less money.

Unless you have the auto open tailgate, then the cover sometimes stops the gate from lowering.

I transplanted my Backflip from my '13 to my '16, works perfectly. My winter wheels bolt right up too!

I myself would never ever leave a key in the holder.
Is it possible that your truck will be stolen if you leave your key fob inside the vehicle and someone is breaking the window and driving it?

By the way, my tailgate will be locked also along with the doors when I lock the truck using the keypad while keeping my key inside. My LOCK setting is autolock on, autounlock on, remote unlock is for 4 doors.

To the best of my knowledge, if someone were to break the window and set off the alarm for the truck, the key will not start it nor will the push button start work until the alarm is deactivated. If they find the key, they could disable it and drive off, but until they find the key and deactivate the alarm it is my understanding that the truck will not start.

Found out that the factory ford tailgate shock that comes on the Lariats and up fits behind the tail light on the xlt's. just need to order a pivot and the shock from ford. the other pivot ball is already on the truck.

Yup. There is a thread somewhere around here with the specific part number that you would need to order if you wanted to add this to your truck.

Last I checked it was on severe back order but that was a few months ago. $40-$60 was the price I've seen and it's about a 30 minute install. There are videos of the install on YouTube and this forum as well.

Not sure if this has been answered, but can your mirrors automatically fold in when the doors are locked? I have a 2015 Lariat 501A.

I've asked it before and it's preposterous that, no, they can't. But, you have the outstanding feature of waking the neighborhood up when you are loading your trailer up at 5 AM when you hop out with the truck running and the horn goes in blast mode.

I had put on my tailgate assist over the weekend. I recommend buying from Fairway Ford on eBay. Genuine Ford parts, comes in unopened Ford packaging, and quick, free delivery.
