I've got the 2017 scab. The strap is there and you can reach it with your fingertips. It's tucked into the back of the seat between the channel of metal you can feel. I tried 6 or 7 times before finding it.

Did you try it with the seat up or down?

I did it with the seat up.. since that was how it was done in the videos I saw.. I think those videos must have been the supercrew.

I used a box end wrench to reach down and easily pull up on the lever

Great info and funny comments!

A couple of things I've found with my 16 in the 2 months I've had it.

PLUS - I like the look and feel of the truck overall more than my 07/08 and 14 F150s.
Cab is more comfortable, more roomy and sound deadening has improved dramatically.
I'm up a trim level with the XLT Sport than I was with my previous 3 XTR.
I've had the 5.4 twice and the ECO in my 14 and I prefer the 5.0 to all of my previous models.
PLUS - The lack of chrome on this model has saved me $$ with not wanting to add a ton of other chrome accessories (door handles, window trim, etc) so that's a plus, but limits the exterior modifications.
NEGATIVE - First time with the nav system and I like it, almost everything about it, except.. it's a HUGE annoyance that in this day and age, where these vehicles are sold all over the freakin world that Ford can't make the weather and Sync travel apply to more than just the USA. It's completely useless to ask for a forecast and get one from 300 miles away in Montana.

A question;
1) Does anyone have any experience with how the aluminum body handles hail? I had a pretty bad hail claim with my 14 and am worried about the aluminum and it's strength when it comes to that.

Other than that, thanks everyone for the help in the previous 1256 posts and I'll gladly contribute where I can assist others too!
I had hail damage on my '15 one year ago. It was parked next to my other vehicles and they sustained about same damage except my daughters brand new '16 Corolla, it had $6500 damage. I had $4500 damage on mine. The dent popper guy was able to get them all out except for along the roof line because he couldn't get to the dents, so had to send to body shop for that. It looked good as new when they were done.

Am I missing something? Or did Ford make it impossible on the 2017's?
I have the Screw and have lowered down the back seat on the driver side easily but not sure why everyone is so obsessed with it when you can store anything from that route straight from beneath the seat. It all ends up behind the seat if you see what I'm talking about.

On my Supercab I store tow straps and bungee cords back there.. No way to stick them up there from under the seat..
