Hints, Tips and Tricks
Great thread, took me awhile to wade through it all, but all great information.
I made kind of a last minute decision last Thursday and bought a 2015 Super Crew, took advantage of the FEP promotion up here (Alberta) on the last day it was in effect. I just got an XLT with the standard trim, running boards and tow package (not max tow) as I wanted to keep the price low. I'd have left off the RB's but since I was picking off a lot this was the truck closest to what I was looking for.
It was a bittersweet decision because now my beloved '99 7.3 oilburner is now going into semi retirement. She's 8000 km's short of 700,000 km's and for $$ per kilometer is the cheapest vehicle I've owned, period.
Anyway, I was trying last night to get it to play my iPhone songs with out using the USB cord, just use the BT connection. No way could I get it to work. The phone is paired correctly and works fine. Using the cord is no biggie I guess, as it also keeps the phone charged, but there's the occasion I may forget the cord.
Also, will it (iPhone) work with the aux in jack if there's no USB cord?
BTW, this is the first F150 I've owned in 25 years, last one being a '78 reg cab short box with the big 400 cube mill in it, been driving diesels since. Have to say I'm impressed with this truck big time! With the 3.5 EB this truck has cojones! I drove so called muscle cars in the 70's that this truck would put to shame..

On your entertainment screen on the left side it gives you the options -- AM, FM, Sirius, USB, etc. On the second screen of those (hit the down arrow) it should list your Iphone. Hit that button and it should start playing your Iphone.
If that doesn't work, well, then I got nothin' for ya.
BTW, guys, thankful for this site. Have learned so many hidden things about my truck the first two weeks I've had it. Coming from an '04 Titan, this truck is leaps and bounds ahead of where we were 12 years ago in terms of technology. I encourage you to enjoy what you have.
We all live in our own little world, and mine wanted no lights coming on when the doors are opened.
After it is enabled what does come on when a door is opened is the ambient lights, that could be turned off dimmed etc.
The key pad light and the ford start up screen on the info screen that could be turned off (I think) but the Key pad on, I do not like!
Any light source that is button operated still works as normal, and that is what baffles me as to why the key pad light comes on as you can just push it to turn the light on.
Spare fob in the console or glove box and tail gate will not auto lock with the doors.
Put it in the under the Ac sliding cubby hole or behind the interior door handle or wrap in tin foil and all works. The tin foil will also give a no key detected if you leave it in your console vault if you have one. Some tin boxes do not work, so if you have one that does please post the name.

I'm notoriously cheap especially when I am buying accessories. So when looking for a tonneau cover I noticed that the prices of the 2015+ model covers is substantially higher than the 04-14 trucks. I took out my measuring tape and all the interior dimensions of my 5.5' box are the same as the previous model. So I bit the bullet and ordered a 2014 cover. It fits perfect.
So if you're looking for a tonneau maybe look at one for the older model year as they are probably the same just less money.

I can't remember the exact steps off the top of my head, but I don't think it's in the advanced page in the cluster. I found it in one of the further left pages/screens and I think you have to push the ok button two times to actually swap the gauge out with the one you're wanting.

[QUOTE=Frank Brannen;4278831]Has anyone attempted to override the 5mph kill switch for the led spotlights on the mirrors?[/QU
It's quite simple. There are photos and directions. I did it to mine and love them on while driving alone on the road at night.

If you don't have the 8" productivity screen you won't have that option since all your gauges are mechanical. The 8" productivity screen has digital gauges on the screen.
Yes. I forgot to add that it must be in this spot to program MyKey.
I think it's pretty cool even if it's not programmed. It's a carefree place to leave the key and just use the number pad to lock and unlock the doors. Given that it's winter though, I'll hold off on this. That remote start is lovely.

That is a good idea, but since my truck has a factory anti-theft alarm that activates seconds after second beep, the key disables it when around the perimeter of the alarm.
