I tried again,, no way can I get my hand down there as far as you can. I can just feel what I think is the top of the bracket with my finger tips.

Quit using your fingers. You need a hook or loop tool. Most folks have used a box end wrench to extend their reach. Just hook it over the pin and pull.

Once you know how, its easy.

Then, when you have some time, make a permanent lanyard. Cross drill a 1/16th hole and snake through a wire and swage a bead on the end. Make a loop in the opposite end and carabiner it to the headrest post.

The picture of the Scab looks like it has a short strap on it already. So if I ever get it down it will be easy to make a longer pull rope.

I have tried using a 10" hemostat to grab the strap can't even feel a strap. Tried box wrench can't feel the pin. Tried coat hanger can't grab anything. Tried taking a picture with cell phone to see what the heck I have can't see anything.

I can't get my hand down in there. And in the video it looks to me like when he did it the seat back wasn't locked in place but opened a little already.

Seems the smart engineer did the passenger side and the dumb one did the driver's side!

LOL love the smart and dumb engineer comment - couldn't agree more! On a side note, do you have a wife, kid or friend with smaller hands to get that down for you once so you can make a longer strap?

Or maybe a metal hook? Use a camera/smart phone to see down behind the seat for aiming? (Because there's no way to get your head in the right position to see back there! )

Only if you get the package with the locking spare tire. Other wise it's just a hole.
