Had to play with it a little, nothing fancy, but it now works fine.
One of the neater functions of this is that I can increase the font size so I can read it!
Same thing works for Nook and other e-readers.

Then I got to wondering -- I never checked to see if something like that already existed.

O well, it works well for me!
I had the same problem so down loaded the manual from the ford site to my iPad.

It's in the manual on page 43 I think. Somewhere in that area. It's a silly method and it sounds like Ford is trying to make you look like a dummy while you're doing it but it works.

I'm pretty sure there is no light in the dash either. I could disable the chime in my Toyota but it always kept the red seatbelt light on the dash.

pg 40-41

Read Steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before

proceeding with the programming

procedure.

Before following the procedure, make sure

that:

The parking brake is set.

The transmission is in park (P).

The ignition is off.

The driver and front passenger safety

belt is unbuckled.

1. Switch the ignition on. Do not start the

engine.

2. Wait until the safety belt warning light

turns off (about one minute). After

Step 2, wait an additional 5 seconds

before proceeding with Step 3. Once

you start Step 3, you must complete

the procedure within 30 seconds

3. For the seating position you are

switching off, buckle then unbuckle the

safety belt three times at a moderate

speed, ending in the unbuckled state.

After Step 3, the safety belt warning

light turns on.

4. While the safety belt warning light is

on, buckle then unbuckle the safety

belt. After Step 4, the safety belt

warning light flashes for confirmation.

This will switch the feature off for that

seating position if it is currently on.

This will switch the feature on for that

seating position if it is currently off.

< moron of the week aware (Me) thanks haha. I believe it's all the hoops I have to jump through in my work that I really hate the idea of jumping through hoops with my truck. I'm watching all the issues build up, the moment the threshold hits I'll sell the truck and get a new one. I won't waste one moment going to a dealer unless the truck is on its side. They can't afford me lol

Thanks for the clarification, on it!

Any way to turn off the double honk of the horn when I leave the running truck with the key in my pocket? Neighbors love it when I forget the key is in my pocket and I run back in the house at 6 A.M.

I'm sure someone has the pg number of the manual but I remember seeing it in there. I can't do that on mine or I'd wind up leaving it running at work accidentally. Haha
