FORScan - software to enable/disable features in your truck
#2221
When connecting with the truck it was using a "comm" port. Forscan forum told me to go to setting and change it from auto detect to "bluetooth" ... cleared the issue right up.

I got a real head scratcher.
I'm still working on my DRL issue and did some good ol fashion reading today. I started thinking that maybe it's an actual relay or jumper that's different in Canada bound builds. In my Canadian (French & English) owners manual there is no fuse or relay listed anywhere for headlamps. I've never seen any Ford owners manual with no headlamp fuse or relay listed, so I'm wondering if your American owners manuals are different or if anyone knows the actual location of the DRL relay?
If anyone here has a 2016 with LED headlamps may you please post a photo of your fuse box without the cover.

Quick question.
I have a ELM327 Bluetooth with the orange sticker. I plugged it in, paired, opened Forscan, Forscan asked me if it had the switch, I selected 'NO' because there is no switch. Then I came across some information on how to modify the ELM327 to add a switch. To test out whether it worked or not before going out to buy a switch, I decided to move pin 6 to pin 3 and pin 14 to pin 11.
I plugged the ELM327 back in and connected successfully to BT on my Windows 10 tablet, connected successfully in Forscan, but Forscan gave me an error saying it was unable to connect to the vehicle.
To test whether I some how screwed the ELM327, I switched the pins back to 6 and 14 and discovered all was well and regained access to the PCM, APIC, DCDC, and BCM. After reading Forscans site, it says if I clicked 'NO' to the switch question, it would not expect the switch to be there and would not prompt to make a switch. Is there anyway to reset the answer to that question so when I move the pins back to 3 and 11, Forscan will expect the change? Or does Forscan prompt to flick the switch over after it's connected, thus requiring the switch?

Update.
I got to play with 7 different F150's today (all 2015+).
I can competently enable and disable DRLs now on Canadian trucks, with one major exception. Which is that the checkbox selection in the advance lighting menu will only disable DRLs. It's hard to understand in writing, so I made a little video which I will post soon so you can clearly understand the issue.
Regardless of that set back, at least I can enable and disable DRLs up here now upon request. I just have to skip the IPC module when I do it.

Just went outside and tested this a bit for you and I think I found the setting to disable Car Finder
BCM Module:
726-02-01 xxxx xxxx x1xx - Car Finder Disabled
726-02-01 xxxx xxxx x0xx - Car Finder Enabled
It stopped the horn from honking upon pressing lock button on fob twice but test it out and make sure that this is in fact what it is and let me know. I didn't have a lot of time to thoroughly test this but hopefully it works out for you.
