Mine is running win 10 that might be why I didn't have a problem..

I did some searching on Windows 7 and adding a bluetooth adapter. I read reviews for some bluetooth adapters on Amazon and there seemed to be many people with Windows 7 that said the adapters didn't work but some said it worked fine. So then I searched on Microsoft's site and came across this download that may help your computer in getting it to work:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/980396

Try it out, nothing to lose at this point.

Livnitup,
Thanks for all of your hard work on this.
Got the MX Adapter today and within a few minutes (after backing up all of the files) had the double honk disabled.

ha very funny, the problem was that my laptop didnt have bluetooth feature, so after buying two different add on devices and it still not working, i went inside and was able to use our home personal computer, hence the reason for parking the truck next to the basement window in order for the bluetooth to be able to reach the device. Better explanation? But yeah, my laptop a pain in the butt
