Default Floor Shifter Conversion?

Did anybody convert his column shifter to the floor shifter? Did a search here but didn't find anything. Mine already has the console, so that would help.

I done to my 2010 Ram 2500. That was pretty involved because I had originally a fold-down center seat. Hope it is easier this time around.

A few threads have popped up, but nobody seemed to try it yet. Everyone speculates it may be too expensive and not worth it. Keep us posted if you find anything out.

Probably will have to wait until used parts come up on eBay from a wrecked truck. I think all that is needed is the shifter, cable, bezel, wiring for the shifter, and the upper and lower shrouds for the steering column. I think with used parts it can be done under $500.00.

That is if you already have the full center console which I do. Should be pretty easy. It was a whole lot more involved on my Ram.

thread resurrection. You can source all the components for about 250 (shifter assembly, boot, shifter cable and shifter ****).

The biggest question is how do you remove all the stuff from the steering column? And what would be the parts to do this conversion? I am sure you'll need some sort of steering column covers since you will no longer have the shifter in it.

The column shifter is removed as an assembly. Upper and lower column cover is under $30.00 new from Ford. I seen some covers on eBay and they ask close to $100.00....go figure!

I like the column shifter. It's sort of old school, and one of the many things I like about my truck...

It's been awhile since anyone has posted here, but this is what I have found. Even with the correct console wiring harness that will accept the floor shifter (which is not in the consoles with cloumn shifters) , you will need to replace the Main wiring harness in the dash as it has a different connection plug for the console. I was all set to do this today until I made that discovery. It appears right now the new Main wiring harness will run around 280.00 or so (depending on your options), but if it works you can unbolt the column shifter and replace the column covers to have the appearance and function of one that left the factory this way.... still holding out hope it'll work

A mini update....I'm still going to do this, I have ordered and recieved a new console harness and a new main harness. Now hopefully the weather will hold out this weekend and I'll be able to pull the dash (which I'm also replacing) and finally get the shifter operational
