Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
I'm running SYNC3 V3.0 on my 2015 without any issues.. I'm not seeing much of a difference yet though..
** Sidenote. I upgraded my SYNC to SYNC3 on my own. went to the dealer to see if they could update on their side so I could get the updates from the ford site, but they wouldn't touch it. then made a comment that they were shocked it was even running.. anyway.. does anyone have any idea how I can get it updated so it shows on the ford site????

Well, not 100% positive yet, but appears to have worked...
I left my truck running and went into the restaurant to eat... it obviously says do not turn your vehicle off... Well about 50 minutes went by and I went out to go back to work, and it had shut off... (aggrivating and not sure why or how to prevent in the future - but that is a different thread and discussion). However upon starting my truck it did still show the update arrow in the upper right corner.. I went to the bank and left it running again another 20 min or so, came out and it said update complete, and something along the lines of will not be activated until the next time you start your car... so I will verify it when I leave to go home tonight, but at the moment, I am assuming it all went as it was supposed to. I am really hoping it did and excited to see/experience the differences - hopefully this also will correct the issue I was having with the bluetooth audio seemingly cutting out, so I will report back on that end as well.

I will be curious to hear what differences you see. I bought my 2016 about a month ago and immediately updated to 2.3 so do not know or actually remember what it did before that. I need to do the update again so that I can upload the "completed" file back to Ford so they know what release the truck is on. I have no idea if this is even important but figure why not and this thing does have lots of bang whiz gizmos on it and I want them to work for a decade to come.

YAY!!!!
I am officially on ver 2.3 and all appears to be working! I had a little trouble reconnecting my phone and sync, then noticed it took the map a while to start working, but all is now well. It also did fix the bluetooth audio(or at least no issues as of yet).
My only question is that I thought it would have apple carplay? Was I wrong? I see the option for android...
Regardless, I am happy and working.
Lastly, i did try to upload the file to report it back to ford, but guess what? It failed multiple times. I will try at some point in the future, but no hurry

For Apple Car Play, you're phone must be plugged into the new USB hub. Although it's nothing to brag about.
As said above you will need to get a new USB hub in order for Apple Car Play to work. They are about $50 and can be installed in about 10 minutes. https://www.varsityfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-controller-hc3z19a387b?origin=pla&gclid=CjwKCAiAhMLSBRBJEiwAl FrsTg32_4IjtR64oMKhvkFXqvHayNzIexgB8xQhep7Jx05g3KV IdBR7BBoCwVMQAvD_BwE
I did it on mine and wish I had not wasted the $50. It lets you access some of the apps on your I-phone but not much. It lets you do music (sync does also by plugging in), it gives you Apple Maps, you have to cache them and then it is not very accurate, the Sync3 map is better. It allows you to send and receive phone calls and receive texts, but so does Sync3. You can use Siri but you can also do that on Sync3. So I personally see no improvement with the car play. Of course I am an old fart and use my phone to make phone calls LOL:

Nice job, I may attempt this soon also but I will need to download a good nav version copy because my truck originally came with Sync 2 and I upgraded so Ford would not have any Sync 3 updates for me.

I'm kinda the same as you. My 2015 came with SYNC2 with Nav, bought the SYNC3 module and swapped it out. The SYNC3 was without Nav as I opted for the carplay USB hub and all. Ever since, there's been no CD album displayed for months.
