I must be an idiot. Followed the instructions as listed in the guide. The first install took literally .5 seconds. Told me to keycycle the car. Went back inside, loaded the second list up, loaded it in the car, said part 1 was completed in 10 seconds and then that’s it... can’t get past that. And now the vehicle contstantly wants me to join WiFi to finish the update.
I’ll try from the beginning again. But I’m not sure why it only took .5 seconds for the first update.

Does anyone know if there are release notes for 3.0 update? I know Ford does not think like a software company.. but it would sure be nice to know what changed in 3.0 aside from needing it to work with Waze next month.

I downloaded the official copy of 3.0 this morning from the FORD site as it said it is available for my 2016 Lariat Screw 3.5eb by serial number.
I have done this once before when I got the truck to update to 2.3 so I don't think I am a total Id10T
I have about a 45 minute commute to work so thought it would be perfect. Removed all USB and cables from the inputs, Started the truck, Plugged in the USB with 3.0 files on it and NOTHING. Sync3 came up like normal but no indication what so ever that anything was loading. NADA.
I re-downloaded the files and will try this again on my way home this evening. I think this time I will plug in the USB before starting the truck so the Sync3 sees it on bootup. Good or bad idea ??

I got the new official 3.0 update installed. It does seem more responsive but the best part for me is that is now displays the Volume Name of my USB drives instead of that long *** worthless naming it used before.
Could be my imagination or wishful thinking but it seems to sound better too.

I was hoping for the same info. My wife even asked "what are the release notes for 3.0?" Uh... Ford doesn't tell you. Your iPhone would tell you what bugs were fixed, etc.

give it a little time and then start up again. I've heard Nav takes a little time to load up the first time. First time my non nav restarted my GT theme was gone and no phone. Another key cycle and it was back.
