Y'all say the hub won't read a usb 3.0 stick, this is incorrect. I've never used anything but 3.0 to play music or update sync via USB with nary a problem with exfat or fat32 partitions. I think y'all just might have janky gas station or ebay flash drives or something...

Anybody else having issues not receiving the v2.3 update on their owner.ford.com website? Mine just says its up to date but only shows v2.2. I've spoken with live chat on their website on two different occasions and they can't seem to figure out why it's not showing that I have an update available. One guy says on their end it shows its available and doesn't know why I can't see it. The other lady says she didn't know and opened a case file for their computer engineers to look into it. Both have said I could just take it to the dealer and have them do it. Both times I asked would the dealer charge me and both said it depended on the dealer. I do not want to take it to the dealer because of my ForScan changes even though I didn't change anything about what is shown on the screen.

Default You guys Rock!

Yesterday I was able to update my version 1.0 to 2.3 by following the instructions on the Ford Owner site. Used a 32gb mini Sandisk USB and I did a factory reset immediately before updating it. It updated without issues. I wouldn't have even known there was an update and I wouldn't have known Android auto was even an option if it weren't for this forum.
Thank you!

People keep saying carplay on your phone. Is this something I need to download from the app store or will it load the first time I plug it into Sync ??

AND in relation to the post above, can you rename your USB to something that makes any sense DOH! nevermind. Right click rename

Marc
You can find CarPlay on your iPhone in Settings> General> CarPlay

When Ford says "much more to come" they must mean in year 2027.

I had high hopes when they moved to QNX they would be more agile with Sync updates, map updates, etc., but it seems typically slow automotive engineering practices still rule the day.

They released an Alexa skill for MyFord mobile, which is the version of FordPass for electric vehicles months ago, but I've yet to see even a press release since CES indicating they are any closer to bringing it to us gas burners.

That being said I CAN'T WAIT until I can tell Alexa to start my rig, or even better in Phase 2 when I can uses Alexa in the truck.

it's just the USB on the display shows a weird name (a bunch of long numbers and letters) but it plays !
If your original thumbdrive that you said is fried was used for your update make sure it doesn't still have the DONTINDEX file on it from the update. If that file is there SYNC 3 won't index the drive and find the music or show up on the menu.

I had the same issue. Try adding a 2016 F-150 to the ford owner website with a different VIN number. You can search google for VINs. I did that and the new vehicle had an update to v2.3. Still waiting for the email to download it.

I'm not sure why the update doesn't show for my vehicle. It may be that the particular software update doesn't apply to the variation of the hardware in my vehicle. I don't know if 2016 vehicles manufactured in different months have different internal hardware variations.

Default Disable android auto microphone

Using Android auto and absolutely blown away by the integration to my phone. However, is there a way to disable the microphone setting? I was talking about making a call and it picked it up. I thought it only was listening when I hit the microphone button, but apparently it is always listening?

Thanks
