I guess I could try a master reset. I forget, does that smoke all your radio presets?

...at least I know I am not the only one with the dimming issue. Anyone else? Would be nice to know if it is a software bug or something specific to my config. I keep my dash lights super dim at night (only one bar), so maybe others just haven’t noticed the issue.

I have the same question. I know there is one for the non-nav. Wonder if the same/similar steps would work for the nav version?

I have non nav and upgraded tp 3.0.
It did the same thing (stayung in night mode).
I played with the dimming opition a few times and didnt really accomplish anything.
Then the other day i was driving and suddenly it went from night mode to day mode by itself. It has been fine since.
I love 3.0.
My Google searches have been so fast and responce has ggeen much improved.

Don't think it's software bug or a lot of people would have that problem including myself. When I did master reset it didn't nuke the presets. You do know you can control brightness I believe in the display menu.Just a thought.

I wrote that howto for non-nav systems. It’s quite plausible that a similar process would work for those with navigation-based units. I don’t have access to one so I can’t test it.

However...

The rollback issue seemed to have been isolated to non-navigation APIMs/systems (they have much less internal memory than navigation-based units; the catalyst of my howto/workaround.). So it’s possible that reinstalling nav v2.2 may just work out of the box without any tinkering.

I have a 2017 F150 Lariat with Sync 3. Just upgraded to version 2.3. Is there a version 3.0 for my vehicle?

I have used the procedure you developed to rollback my 2016 F150 Screw Lariat with Sync 3 and Nav to the recent 2.3 release. Worked like a charm.

Do tell. How? Just applied the 2.2 update without file changes?

I first noticed it after I went from 2.3 to 3.0 last month. The center display was so bright even at one bar compared to the cluster that I thought the ambient light sensor had quit.

I went into the settings and instead of “Auto” I selected “Dark” and now it’s perfect during day or night. Dunno why Auto is so bright. But Dark works fine.

Wow, this thread is hard to find anything in. Wish we would have had separate AA and Carplay threads.

Anyway, have a 2016, September build. I just switched from an Android to Apple. AA worked fine. It came with SYNC 2.0 but I guess I still need a new USB hub. The sticky says HC3Z-19A387-B is a valid hub, but that's listed as a 2016 part, the 2017 part is HC3Z-19A387-C. Is there a chance I already have HC3Z-19A387-B? I guess I should just take it apart and check, but I don't have any trim tools yet.
