They often don't take you seriously and look at you like you're just some nut who believes in fake news from the internet. I have even tried to share links from this site with staff at the dealers and they seem to take it all with a grain of salt.

What gets me is their lack of curiosity and unwillingness to accept new information from sources other than "official" Ford.
Playing devils advocate here, but can you imagine the sheer number of people that go into dealerships and demand service, sales or whoever that they saw (Insert TSB, recall, imaginary issue, new release, etc here) on the internet and this is what their truck requires and / or should do and for them to rectify it? So I can understand why dealerships may take certain things with a grain of salt, if not they would be wasting countless hours on wild goose egg hunts on a product or condition that may or may not exist. There is only a finite amount of time in everyone’s day.

I would think its just like going to a Doctor and telling them you have self diagnosed on the internet, they don't like that so much either and are not just going to take your word on it and operate, prescribe meds, or whatever the case may be. They are going to do their own due diligence.

I was brash on my initial response so my apologies there, I just see how lots of members are hard on people that are in a service industry to speak and their hands are tied as to what the manufactures provide them info or flexibility wise.

Anyhow sorry for cluttering up this thread with my babble.

ok blame Ford or the dealership doesn't matter to me. But it affect the end user the customer. When buying my truck i was amazed at how little or incorrect these people were when it came answers about my truck. Not to mention when i went in about my XM satellite reception sucking they immediately went down the path of cell phone towers etc. Then I told them about a TSB and to look it up. two of them made a face like oh duh...walked away leaving the 3rd guy to eat crow. Why be so damn difficult? Educate yourself on your products. You can have all the confidence in the world for these guys but I do not. I have tried 3 different dealers in the Houston area for various services and they suck. Bad attitudes and try blow everything off until you push back hard. Love the truck even though it has its issues but it will be my last Ford. I cringe every time I have to go in for service. Maybe I'll start filming some and start my own youtube channel for laughs.

Question Official update?

A few days ago people were implying some sort of "official" update would be available from Ford . . . in a few days. So any word on that?

I am a software engineer by trade and I am nervous putting unofficial patches on my vehicle.

there is no official update. Just like there was no update before year end like Ford advertised.

My USB HUB finally came in. It's pretty tight to remove and install with my big hands but I got it in. Started up the truck before I seated the new hub but all worked great. Plugged in my iPhone and CarPlay is running including maps!!!!

Yeah, this is disappointing. The car companies don't really know how to handle software at all.

My understanding is this IS a Ford update just leaked. I didn't look at a 2017 to see if there's a difference but it functions like it's stock.

I am thinking it is pretty official since it shows as an update done on Feb 19th in my ford owners account.

Did you have your truck in for service or something?

This is important for me, or rather my wife. She has poor vision in her right eye so all the vehicles we get need large screens for navigation stuff. The nice screen is one reason I got the F150.

Nope. Used the nav version update listed here. I am guessing when the system does its auto update checking it realized the system was 2.2.
