Okay. Didn't know if it was a firmware or hardware update. Thanks. With my software, can I use Android (Google Nav) on the screen?

The only way to update to Sync3 would be to buy the screen and APIM (maybe just the apim) and wiring adapters.

There isn't a way to do any AA or CP on Sync2, but you can have its audio sent out over bluetooth and do navigation that way.

Haven't been in here in a while & not 100% related to AA/ACP.
Anyone had their USB audio device stop responding & not usable until a power cycle?

Have had this happen 2-3 times since the Sync 2.2 update.

I updated to v2.2 on December 14 last year and it still shows v1.0 on the screen. AA works fine though, so I don't worry about it.

this was a joke to begin with. Anyone who owns a Ford knows the knuckleheads at the dealership are the most clueless people when it comes to knowledge on these trucks.

I see the AA preferences on my screen but nothing for CarPlay. I have BT connection (phone shows Bluetooth as the device name in the Bluetooth section of my iPhone 7) and the phone is detected once it is plugged in to the USB port but again no CarPlay. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it possible that the hub is bad? Siri is working fine as well.
Follow-up question, how many wires should be in the power harness connecting to the hub? I have 2 is that correct?

Well I did the software update last night. only problem was my stupidity, I forgot to take the files out of a folder on the usb drive and sat outside in the truck waiting for 20 minutes for something to happen. went back in and fixed that the folder and wow it all worked. sync 2.2 seems a bit faster, now has an option to search for an update and dose a better job of finding mobile apps. now just waiting for the hardware part on order and shipped should have it by 3/8.. here's hope in done waiting on ford.

Thats an ignorant comment, The staff at dealerships have the info Ford gives them, do you think they have hours on end to spend on various forums researching each vehicle model and each trim level like some here do?

I had problems with bluetooth phone calls since I received the truck last November. It was in to the dealer to find trouble codes twice as I could never reproduce it while there. in the end as I was leaving there was strange behavior where the phone was connected to bluetooth in a call, but the radio would still play during a handsfree BT call. so they hooked it back up and found an error and ordered a new APIM. So no I have a Sync 2.0 module and awaiting my USB hub to make the switch.

the initial call issue was that when placing handsfree calls the ring tone was a very low frequency and slowed down, as well was the voice of the person on the other end, like I was talking to James Earl Jones in slow motion replay.

Tony, I agree with Cincojoe! That being said, I don't necessarily expect the staff at dealerships to scour these forums as thoroughly as some of us do. However, I resent the way some of them respond to you when you ask valid questions about what we find on here. They often don't take you seriously and look at you like you're just some nut who believes in fake news from the internet. I have even tried to share links from this site with staff at the dealers and they seem to take it all with a grain of salt.

What gets me is their lack of curiosity and unwillingness to accept new information from sources other than "official" Ford.
