I had started the truck, let it warm for a minute then drove a mile and parked. Fifteen minutes later I started it and pulled out of a parking spot, slowed at the end of the lot and was pulling onto the road when it died and I got that message. I took a picture then put it in park and it restarted fine. I drove the mile home with no issue.

I have not gone to the dealer yet as I suspect they will just tell me to wait until it happens again. Any thoughts on what the problem may be?
i had the same thing happen to me last night on the way home from work. Outside temperature about 42 degrees. 13 miles from work, truck fully warmed up, went up to a stop sign and went to take a left and got the same message. Had to put truck in park and turn the key to start it. Auto stop start was left on, which I usually deactivate upon starting the tuck. I forgot to this time. First time I’ve had this happen.

Truck is is just shy of 800 miles. 2019 stx, 2.7 TT.

You know...I hate to sound like a total ****, but I am one of the peeps that cannot stand this stupid "technology" and I have been lambasted brutally on this board for fetching up safety and concerns regarding the usefulness of a stop start system.

....I specifically recall having an exchange about my concerns only to be lectured to..... "Oh no....it could never cause and accident"...and I am sure that y'all remember that a few months back. Well, well, well....seems like I just got vindicated. Once again...ANYTHING that has the capability to INTERFERE with your engine DOES HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT!. Proven right here....and right now.... that this silly nonsense can and at some point if not already...will cause a crash or even worse. And its not just the OP apparently having loss of engine power.

OP states: I have a 2018 F150 XL 2.7l 4x4 with about 2400 miles. Today, I was driving and lost all engine power. An error message popped up on the instru

Lost all engine power?....you mean while driving?...on the highway?....while still moving in traffic?....really?......Well, you have stop start, so youll be always be completely safe!!! as well as saving gas...right?....too bad that 18 wheeler could not stop while you were trying to restart your truck in the middle of that intersection!!!! (Sarc/OFF)

This could have easily turned into an accident or even a fatality as a result of loss of engine power due to an *** fault.

If you are on the fence about not having this in your car, this is a serious consideration for you.

For the peeps who keep drinking the Koolaid on ***...keep on going with that notion, and I wish you safe travels (hopefully).

Nuff said.

Default Power steering

My favorite thing is when it takes 3 seconds to get my power steering back. Not a safety issue at all, it’s great! Actually I had *** deactivated on my 2019, cuz I don’t feel like explaining to the wife that there is a “proper” stopping and turning protocol for the truck to steer correctly. It’s stupid.

So back at this again - any other updates from the people that had reported issues. Have most of you gotten some form of PCM reflash? or Software updates. I'm guessing a number have.

Just curious I saw the thread pop up but no updates from the first reporters or extra reports of similar issues.

Still say for the few of you - it seems like start stop activated too early when it shouldn't have.

I had this same thing happen to me today in the Costco parking lot. Was able to pull over and restart but I do not want this to happen on the highway!

Anyone figure out what is going on?

2018 2.7EB. Drive it daily and had made several stops before this one in the day. I was driving slowly as I had an air compressor and some other upright items in the bed. It acted like it wanted to shift from 1st to 2nd, which it hardly ever shifts to 2nd, and in the middle of that it just died.

Cold morning in NC today and this happened to me, first got warning that my front camera was partially obstructed and accident avoidance would be turned off which I attributed to some frost on camera. Then a few miles down the road was at stop light thankfully and this happened when it seemed the auto start stop tried to activate. Since I was at a red light it was easy to park, crank, and resume drive. 2019 STX 4x4 with 5500 miles.

I've had this happen to me as well. My issue started when the truck auto stopped at a red light. When I let off the brake to push the gas the truck would turn on and slam into gear so hard I thought I was rear ended. At the next light the truck would lose all power and the same message that everyone is posting showed up on my IPC. This happened every day for three days in a row. Had enough, bought a damn FORSCAN tool and turned off auto start/stop in FORSCAN. No issue since turning it off (4months and counting).

Mine just started it this week after that cold *** weather here in texas. It happened 30 minutes ago in the McDonalds drivethru. it died 5 times there.
I had *** disabled by sport mode, button etc. still did it. I was IN PARK and it did it. Normal mode it did it. Earlier this week it happened 2 times at same red light.
only difference to OP is mine says manual restart required. This is a complete saftey hazzard. absolutely no codes, no check engine light nothing. Restarts as if nothing happened.
