I commute about 70 miles to and from work. I always disable the auto Start/Stop and this happened to me as I was exiting the highway & stopped at a red light. This is 68 miles into my commute, I’m pretty sure that the battery was not cold. The truck shut off again as I was backing into a parking spot, it seems like it does it whenever the truck is idling for an extended period of time. It idles rough and the RPMs drop to 0. Lately whenever I’m at a stop light I’ve been putting the truck in neutral thinking that the brake is triggering the auto/start even though I press the button to disable it whenever I am driving the truck.

Sorry to be late in this additional reply about Auto Start.
Had storm damage take out Internet service.
The additional info for Auto Start is that there is a DC to DC Inverter in the BCM module that is Only used for ***.
Reason is as follows; during auto start attempts, the Battery voltage supplied to several key modules needed to perform may get Battery voltage that is too low.
The fix for this is the DC to DC Inverter to raise the Voltage to only those Modules that must not fall below a certain level or they will not work.
The *** system as a whole, is very complex and can fail in many area.
When troubleshooting, all these factors need to be considered, not just fall back on replacing the Battery that may not be the root cause of system failure.
Look at any codes generated and clear their faults first before trying to guess it only the Battery and have the same issue again, later.
Good luck.
On early Gen-13s the DC/DC inverter is a separate module. On some newer vehicles it is referred to as the VQM (Voltage Quality Module). My F150 doesn't have one since it does not have Auto-Stop-Start.
Just had this happen to me 2018 Ford F-150 5.0. I was going down the road about 55mph and the whole truck died and gave me the same prompt on the dash. I got in contact with Ford and have a appointment scheduled does anyone know a fix or what the problem may be?

No one can provide a fix unless the cause is known.
If engine stopped running, a power failure may have occurred to the operating system..
Fuse seating.
PCM relay. etc at 55 mph. The auto start is not in play while engine is running and moving down the road.
.
If an intermittent condition, the Auto stop start might react to it.
In this case, a no start could happen in any event, auto or manual.
Have to find a cause first.
Good luck.

Same truck as you, happened to me once about 8 months ago while I had just pulled off a main street. Put in park and restarted, never happened again. My A/S/S is disabled. Computer hiccup maybe.
2018 SCREW V8. Same Issue. New battery 6 months ago & disabled AS/S when driving. Car was running at stop, turned onto road and car shut off around 10mph with this error. Regardless of the battery, this should never have happened if the car was running. Forcing the driver to put it in Park to restart exacerbates the danger in this scenario. I see a bunch of gaslighting in these replies deflecting & downplaying this issue when it’s putting people’s lives at risk. There should be a recall. It’s a bad system design period. I can’t trust this truck driving with my family. Never buying a FORD again.
