i'm skeptical its fixed.. just because it went away doesn't mean its fixed.. most of us here only had it once with no fix so the dealer may not have fixed his truck.. it just may not have manifested itself again

Agree fully. It has been 2 months since it happened to me and has not recurred since but I would still be keenly interested in what was done.

i'm not suggesting don't get it done either .. just don't get your hopes up or frustrated if it happens after the dealer claims they fixed it

Certainly will not. While I would bet it is a software problem, if Ford had a fix there would surely be at least a TSB (needs to be a recall) out to address it. But who knows ...

As I see this as a safety issue, I did this and recommend anyone else it happens to do the same: File a Vehicle Safety Complaint Safercar National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) . Only takes a few minutes. Taking it to the dealer, especially with the picture, is important as well to put Ford on notice of the problem.

(I wonder if Forscanning the AS/S away or installing the AutotStop Eliminator device will "fix" the problem?)
Exact same thing happened to me in December, about a month after I bought my 2018 truck. Had just pulled up to a stop sign a few minutes after the truck was cranked one morning and the same display message.

I installed an AutoStop Eliminator about a week later and it hasn't happened since, although I can't say for sure that it fixed the issue.

I stopped by the dealer today and the service advisor checked for codes. Nothing was showing. They have no idea what went on as they claim to never have heard about it.

Yeah, let me scan it.

It was doing this thing where it was idling roughly as well when coming to a stop.

All they told me was they did some reprogramming and nothing since.

Wow, reprogram the (entire?) PCM. They painted with a real broad brush there.

Not sure my problem is the same and I doubt my dealer would be very cooperative.

Mine was throwing codes as well, so maybe that helped?
