Default any solid reason to avoid 2015s?

still considering new vs used and have been shopping hard for 2013-2014 and 2016 as I usually avoid first year of a new generation.
Is that valid for the F150? Finding some good deals on Lariats, many times better than some 2014 XLTs.

I have a 2015 Lariat. 43,000 miles on it. Love it. Had two TSB fixes done to it (seat cooling and harsh 5-4 downshift). No problems so far. I've done 30+ forscan mods to it. Biggest ones included adding Navigation for free and adding adaptive cruise control/collision warning for under $500. My son has a 2015 XLT, Zero problems... If you have any other questions about my 2015, pm me.

To me, the new trucks make the previous generation trucks just outdated. The new ones have much more options, better engines, etc than the older model. I used to have a 2011 and now a 2016. I would never consider going back to the 2011.

The 2018 had quite a few fairly major updates vs. the 2015-2017. With dealer discount + rebates in the $10k range on 2018s, I can't fathom buying one that's a few years old for very near the same price as new.

I traded my 2015 screw with a 2.7 eco for a 2018 screw with the 5.0 and love it so far.

My 2015 had all the door latches replaced, the entire pano roof replaced, all the sensors and the list goes on. It was riddled with problems and I am so happy I got rid of it.

i keep reading this but haven’t seen it yet, even on here. Closest is maybe $8k difference.

2015 loaded XLT or even Lariat is $34k many times.
You cant touch a loaded new one for close to that.

There has been quite a few updates between 2015 - 2018. Most of the upgrades you can add yourself to a 2015 for less than the cost of a new 2018 with all of them... sync 3, better shocks, etc. However some things like the new 10 spd transmission are cost prohibitive. On top of all that, 2015's either have run out of warranty or soon will. However, most major failures happen soon after you buy the truck, and if it lasts several years with no problems, it'll probably go the distance. As an example, my 2015 has 43,000 miles on it with no issues other than a leaking oil pan gasket, which is a problem Ford hasn't fixed for even the 2018 models.

For every benefit you'll find for buying a 2018, you can counter it with an opposing argument for the 2015. Cost, reliability, options. Some will say to save money and buy used, others will say get exactly what you want and buy a new one.

Truck is in sig. Truck has been bullet proof.

Only have 20K on it but I believe you either get a good one or you get one that someone fell asleep on. If you find great deal on a '15 check the service records, make sure the TSB's (if any) have been done. If it's been reliable and running, working great I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.
