Have a 2015 XLT build date 8/2015 I purchased 9/2015 with 2.7 motor. Not one issue of any type. Best vehicle I have ever owned, and at 75 that is a bunch of vehicles.

The 2015s lack Sync 3, instead using the older Sync/MyFordTouch stuff, if that's a concern to you.

Avoid 2015 super (extended) cabs. Front wheel wells don't have crash bars on frame and in a crash you can kiss your feet and legs goodbye. Super crews are fine.

I traded my '15 XLT extended cab in for a '16 XLT super crew for this exact reason... The '16 had standard features that weren't in my '15 - heated seats, backup sensors & camera, 8" sync.

To the OP - if you are looking at the 2.7s, you should be aware of the TSB for heads. My '15 wasn't part of the campaign, but my '16 had the heads replaced at 8K miles. If I were you, I'd look at a lightly used '17 at this point. For what it's worth, my brother just picked up a new loaded '18 XLT 2WD super crew for $27500. At that price point, used probably isn't worth it.

Only have 20K on it but I believe you either get a good one or you get one that someone fell asleep on. If you find great deal on a '15 check the service records, make sure the TSB's (if any) have been done. If it's been reliable and running, working great I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.
I believe this, especially with Ford. My truck was built on 9/11/16 and I've had 0 problems. I figured they were feeling patriotic and did their best work.

I've got about 23K miles on my '15 Lariat. The only problem I've had is the turn signal lever that had an intermittent problem where it wouldn't cancel after left turns (about 20% of the time) -- fixed under warranty. No other problems.

Most important to run VIN at dealership and check service records. Many gently used trucks are traded because of issues. If few warranty fixes and truck is clean you might find a great deal. Make sure you get the used one 20% cheaper then you can buy a new one for. If at a Ford dealership try to get as close to new with CPO warranty bumper to bumper at great price. If anything goes wrong if you have zero deductible at least there will be no out of pocket costs.

I owned another brand used vehicle I bought with 3500 miles and came with 70 month 96k bumper to bumper from mfg. For me that was worth the risk and it was an awesome choice. Good luck whatever you decide!

2015 loaded XLT or even Lariat is $34k many times.
You cant touch a loaded new one for close to that.
My 2018 was $46,440 MSRP. XLT 302A Sport FX4, Nav, sync connect.
I paid $36,220. (9% discount + 6050 rebates)

Here is a used 2016 XLT at the same dealer. $47,970 was the MSRP new. That's $37,420 if sold new at the same discount as mine was. Let's assume they'll sell it for $32,420. That's a $5000 savings, to buy a 2+ year old truck with 20k miles on it, with unknown history and less than half a warranty. If it's my money, I will spend that extra $5k every time.
