I understand. Wish we (F-150 owners) had a true HUD.
I agree again, a full integrated, features done right, HUD would be nice. I guess my Navdy is another "in the meantime" solution. I have been a Navdy early adopter and beta tester for about 9 months now, and really use it a lot.
They don't do everything the way I would do it, but it is a BIG safety enhancement. Current discussion includes adding ability to view cameras on the Navdy screen, hence my interest in this thread.

Just as a quick example, here is what is planned for one of Navdy's competitors HUD displays. Keep in mind, these displays are transparent and do not block your view forward. They simply add information (or augment) that view so that you don't have to glance anywhere else. The display focal length is such that the added information appears to 'float' out in front over your hood.
In the case of this image, the driver is preparing to turn left, which switches on the left side camera. It also looks like it has calibration marks to see how far back the other car is. In this example the driver is wanting to turn left in 120 meters and is going 25 KM/H in a 60 KM/H zone.

This has happened to me a couple times since I did the upgrade on the firmware. I have sync 2.1 and 4 cameras. I was messing with android auto when it happened the first time. Something tells me there is some confusion with Android auto. I also noticed that when I have the truck turned off and hit the power button on the radio(forscan mod), the sound comes on but no screen. It is annoying. What ends up getting it to work is a couple restarts. Sometimes the restart does not fix it though. Husker Harley, have you contacted Rostra yet? I think they probably need to know their fix is not working.

All my apple products updated yesterday (again) so hoping I don't have another series of problems. Seems like my iPhone & pads just updated within the last couple of weeks??...Hate to blame apple but fingers crossed it's the problem.
Right...lots of variables and the Apple products are just one of them. I really do like the Rostra if it can quit flaking out on us. I have not installed the newer USB so carplay will work, but android auto does with 2.1. I bought my setup through adc mobile...price was right. I have an email in with them in hopes for some answers as well.
