Question Wasn't sure where to place this but want some advice

I went by a dealership today and spoke with the salesman I've been talking to about ordering a truck. Told him I wanted a '16 and he immediately said they can't order yet. He took me into the office and pulled up the Ford website and went to build one, and of course it only had '15 listed. I was like, yeah that's the same site I've been going to every day building my truck over and over. He said as soon as it comes up on the Ford website for me to build it, they can order it, but obviously people on here are getting them ordered. He also said since it will be a custom order specifically for me, that it will be 200-300$ over what they pay. No haggling, no negotiating, just up front it is what it is. Is he giving my a load of BS? I mean it's not really THAT big of a deal because I'm not ready to order just yet, was just wanting some info. But I want to make sure I'm not already getting a run around. Should I just reach out to dealers everywhere and see who bites?

Short answer is yes, find another dealer IMO. You could screw with him and print off the 2016 order guide found on another thread and the price list. I would try another dealer who is more informed however.

I think today I got a good look at this guy being just another car salesman, when I was pretty much going out of my way to give him some business. I'm at the point where I'm just gonna say screw it and do everything I can to get the best deal, even if that means driving up to Atlanta or out of state.

I'm in Atlanta and can tell you that several of the dealers that I have been in contact with will do invoice deals on the 2016 models. And the ones that I have talked with are all taking orders.

A dealer in my area (Seattle) gave me $1,918 (~3%) under invoice on a 2016 Platinum--I put a deposit down on the spot.

Ordered my '16 Screw Lariat on 9/15. Got 1k UNDER invoice. Sent price list (from the forums) and highlighted what I wanted. Sent the PDF file to 4 dealers and said "I'm ordering tomorrow--- best man wins". The dealership down the street was not lowest (was invoice) so for my convenience I let them know what the low price was... they met it. Deal made and $500 deposit given
Just got my VIN from Chad today. SO excited
Build date: week of 10/26

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'16 Lariat, White platinum tri coat with black interior, 502A, Screw, 3.5 Eco, Moonroof, tailgate step, rear inflatable seatbelts, spray in liner, extended tank, max tow.

Wow! This is the exact truck I'd build. Out of curiosity, were you able to get the console with this setup? The build/price site has always bugged me by not letting me build a HD Payload truck with the console.

Ordered Lariat Sport 9/24. It's a supercrew 145 with the EB 3.5 and the 3.55 rear. Attached is the order preview, which shows my build options. Nothing shows up online as to the order yet and no vin # but it has only been 2 weeks so I was not expecting anything. Priority code is 19 and I am told January delivery by my dealer.

Do you have a doc that shows what invoice price is? Your build is similar to what I would be looking at, you have a few more options than I will be getting but I'm curious to see what the invoice price would look like. I was planning to wait till Novemberish to order for a January delivery but looks like I may be late to the party! Trying to time this with the end of school and new job lol
