I agree with skinz sounds like a bad ground that your losing power through I would check the existing ground from the battery and see if it is corroded or dirty

well i replaced the neg cable thinking it might be there and i also moved it from the started bolt to a place on the frame....i didnt use a wire brush on the spot before it put the neg on the frame.....but last night i tried the jumper cable from the neg side of the battery to the metal and the volt meter didnt change...plus on top of that its not reading 11 anymore....now its reading barely 10.5.....maybe ill try doin the extra neg cable anyways....

If you are going to run extra grounds, you'll only need 2-3 feet of big wire (4 or 6 guage), and a couple of large ring connectors. If you get the crimp-on connectors, you'll probably need to crimp them in a vise or something unless you have a hydraulic crimper.

Run a short on in place of the little ground going from the battery post to the front core support, and another from the battery post to somewhere on the motor (throttle body screw was the closest/smallest I could find).

There a few other things it could be also.

There is a small wiring harness that connects to the alternator.
There should be a plug and a red wire on the harness. I've herd of several persons having to replace the plug on that harness or the harness itself. It's a delicate plug that on removal from the alternator can damage it easily. Sounds like it could be the case. I wouldn't know how to test it though. But I do think they sell those plugs at the hardware cause my buddy got a new one for his.

I would put that ground wire back to the starter bolt. That's a good ground area

i put the extra ground on and it didnt do any good....i put the volt meter on the battery after i gave it a jump cause the battery was dead and it just sucked the juice out of it fast and it only had 10.5 volts to start with...it was like the truck was running off just the battery.....i think ima go to the dealer and see if i can get the plug....im thinking the wiring is messed up cause its like the alternater isnt working at all

Since you recently replaced the Alternator, Battery & Positive battery cable;
I would look at those areas first.

I would concentrate on other areas. Like the positive leads that come off the always hot side of your starter solenoid.

Also remember, the negative is just as important as the pos feeds.

The auto parts store has the plug. That's where I got mine.
