It kind of sounds like there could be a positive wire somewhere in the engine compartment thats worn through and grounding thus possibly frying the voltage regulator on the back of your alternator. Cause if you keep throwing alternators at this thing and they aren't charging the battery theres got to be something grounding on a positive wire. Or 2 positive wires touching.

I mite be able to find a charging system diagram for you.
I'll have a look see

Did you happen to find the diagram by chance?? I know i started having problems after hooking up my volt meter....idk if it hurt something or not but i had hooked it up to my solnoid so it read all the time....i dont have it on there anymore but that is the only thing that i can think of that would be causing the problems im having other than i changed out my power steering pump but that shouldnt make any difference....maybe i fried something by putting that wire on the hot side of the solnoid....idk thats the only thing i can think of....

What year? if It's 87', I probably have that charging system diagram.

I would disconnect your POS leads off the alway's hot post of your starter solenoid. those will be wires w/ fusible links on the wires. Checking still for drain between NEG terminal & NEG post w/ each wire removed.

......OR remove all the wires and reconnect, One at a time until you read a drain.

Hey, welcome!
I think you'll have better luck if you go back to the first page of this section, & click on the "NEW TOPIC" icon, close to the top of the left side of the page. This gives you your own personal Thread w/ Title. Instead of being buried in the middle of & confusing w/ someone else's Thread. When you jump in the middle of someone else's w/ yours, it's called "Thread Highjacking". We'll be glad to try to help you figure it out.
