Default keyless entry install

Ok let me start out by saying I haven't seen this discussed well before and second I'd consider myself pretty familar with this subject in general but not specific to this vehicle. What I am having trouble with is this. Everything I've read says the power lock and unlock is in the passenger kickpanel lock is supposively pink/yellow and unlock is supposively pink/green. I take off the kick panel and nothing, I can only find one pink and yellow wire and it leads right to the inertia switch so that's out, there is a strange box factory looking for a red LED facing the rear of the car, anyone have an idea what this is? I just need to know where the lock and unlock wires are or the easiest way to find them and any information related to installing an aftermarket keyless. On the plus side the remote start is working great.

There is no lock or unlock wire. It's a reverse polarity system.

Point taken, perhaps I phrased it wrong, where are the pink and yellow and pink and green wires?

Well, you've got your colors wrong. You're looking for pink/orange and pink/black.

Your both right but, one is wrong......

It depends on year and if the truck was equipped with a factory keyless entry. Yes, the locks are reverse polarity but, you should be able to catch the wires in the drivers kick panel. (not too easy cuz' of the stupid E Brake)

JCMS has the "motor" wires, which will work

elecunlmted, has the "keyless" wires - if your truck didn't come with a factory keyless, you'll never find them. They were behind the little pocket on the dash to the right of the column.

*Make sure you wire the relays correctly the first time - you'll burn out the switches if you send 12v to them - I used to put a 1 or 3 amp ATC fuse inline until I found the "motor side" wires, never burned a switch, once I found em' I'd delete the fuse.

I'm going to try to find JCMS's motor wire because I don't know if my car had factory keyless, I'll report back tonight what I find. Any ideas on the box in the passenger side kickpanel with the red led? just curious

They are there, gotta be. Most of the time the manufacturer will run them across the top of the firewall, on the inside. So, the wires enter the cab and take an immediate 90 degree turn, straight up. It would be the same on both sides. You should be able to grab em' at either kick panel, it's not easy and you gotta get balled up on the floor like a pretzel to actually find, and splice into em, er.. in this case, cut them and tie into them.

You never gave the truck year. From those wire colors it should be '87-'89. You can't use those wires, those are for the switch. The wires are also a different color where they cross the cab to the other door. You are now looking for blue/white and dk green/lt green. That is if youre truck is '87-'89.
