Here's a picture of inside the drivers side kick panel of my '87. The blue, white, purple, and green wires at the top of the picture go to a set of two relays.

 

On my 92, they're on the passenger side kick panel. (lay down on the floormat, with your feet on the ground outside, its most comfortable haha) i found them leading into a green plug, they were on the back of the plug so i had to twist it around. i bet you've figured this out by now. did you use a DEI 451m relay? im having troubles with mine blowing fuses and cant find any worthwhile diagrams
