Default Input on gears

Just got myself a 95 5.0 5 spd with 6 in lift and 35s. It still has stock gears so i gotta do something about that, seems to have good pull but fifth barely keeps it at 80 km. doing some research and I read that 4.56 brings the ratio pretty much back to that of the truck with stock tires, I will be doing highway driving so I was wondering if anybody has any input on if I should order 4.56s or if 4.10s would be alright. I'm a mustang guy, first lifted truck so it's a new world, thanks

Stock gears, that's hilarious. You'll have to be more specific.

Well, a less-expensive alternative would be to keep it in 4th on the highway.

Playing probabilities - the most-widely offered ratio was the 3.55. Given you have increased the tire diameter over stock by about 20% - gets us up to about 4.30 for an equivalent ratio. Going further, these trucks essentially present a brick wall in terms of aerodynamics, and your brick wall is 6" taller due to the lift.

Suggest the 4.10s would be a noticeable improvement, the 4.56s would get you back in the realm of stock performance equivalence. If you have a 4-wheel drive, remember that both front and rear ratios need to be the same - so double the dollar pleasure...

Eh, don't know much about the F250 or the Gen9 offerings. Just know that 3.08 and 3.55 were pretty much it for the F150s in Gen8.

4.10s would be a reasonable thought - just check things out and verify before you buy.
