I ran 3.08s with 35s, for a year it wasn t that bad, 2.73s would be sluggish, but imagine the wheel speed in mud , if you could turn them up.

Ya until it hooked up and snapped an axle lol, I didn't drive the truck much today so it might not be to to bad once I get used to it, I just got a 1600 km drive ahead of me in a couple months, after that she won't be seeing much highway anyways

I know the E40D would die from that. You'd have to be sitting on the frame/axles and free spinning

I can break an e4od by looking at it too hard. In low range 2.73s would be like 5.40s .

I never had any luck with automatics, other than dodge torqueflites, thats just because they re easy to fix and change. C6s aren t bad, the input shaft usualy snaps before anything else, and you can just pull it out, fish out the stump with a magnet, re arm the bomb and go blow again. Hypothetically

92-97 f250s had 3.55s AND 4.10s im finding out there isnt much to chose from in the 10.25 rear end.

You would be surprised what a e4od can handle with a rebuild and some aftermarket parts!
Friend of mine has one behind a 5.9 cummins in his 79 f250 with a dyno tuned and proven 550 rwhp! Has lasted over 45,000 miles with no problems.

Here's a pic.
