Im with you. Overgapped my plugs and replaced everything. But never bumped the timing.

Its bumped now. But im starting to think I may have a problem with my alternator or something. It seems like anything and everything electrical draws way too much power when I use it. Like the load is almost too much.

Not necessarily. Depends entirely on the year. My 87' is .44, but I'm pretty sure 92's are .52-.56. Check your under hood label. That's the "bible" info for your truck.

I looked in the Haynes manual. My under hood label is faded completely white.

No. My under hood label said 0.042-0.046 i gapped to 0.053-0.055. I have a 351

The recommended over gap is between 0.055-0.060 if youre looking to advance timing as far as you can for performance. So if you advanced timing with 0.044 gapped plugs. You hurt more than you helped. I personally recommend you gap them to 0.055.

I gapped to .055, but I guess that's pretty much stock for my truck....
