Yeah, aftermarket doesn't suck, uneducated, budget minded aftermarket can always bite you.

If you had a bad experience, was it a cheap *** kit? Some $50/$100 PNP?

Most likely.

Compared to OEM quality components, as mentioned, you'll spend $300-$400 on:

SVS Bulbs - ~$180/pair
Denso ballasts - $200/pair
Quality harness - $35-50?

So... Perhaps the issue isn't aftermarket components, rather the choice of buying garbage aftermarket components.

You pay for what you get.

Want quality? Buy quality. OEM is never cheap, why would this be any different?

Couldn't have said it better. I bought a P'n'P kit (yeah, I know. Don't judge me. I was unaware at the time of retrofitting.) paid $140 for it. Besides being one of the best kits I've seen, it also has a lifetime warranty. Back when I used autowashes a good bit, water got into a ballast and screwed it up. I contacted them about it, and they sent me a new one. No questions asked. Got it 2 days later, and I have yet to have another problem with them. Despite the fact that it is what it is, I love the product and service. Its just how you do good business.

Is it possible to bake a housing in the oven with the projector still in it to help separate the lens so I can clean the condensation marks off without hurting the projector? As in will the heat from the oven hurt the projector?

No, you can't take the projector out without taking the lens off.

So yes you can take it apart without taking the projector out, you have no other option - just take the lens off, carefully clean it, put it back on - heat it up and press it down.

But how can I get the lens off if I can't put it In the oven? You said putting it in the oven will damage the projector. The lens is sealed with butyl so i need to heat it up to loosen the seal.

I don't recall him ever saying it will damage the projector.

I always use an oven to tape apart/put together HLs.

That's the best way to uniformly heat the butyl and get a good solid seal.

Oops for some reason I thought you said it would damage the projector.

At what temperature and for how long should I put the housing in to loosen the seal and then again at what temperature and for how long to reseal it? I don't want to damage anything. These EVOX-R projectors weren't cheap haha.
