This may be a stupid question, but why do almost all projectors seem to have 2 headlight bulbs. I know one is the actual projector. Is the other for brights?

I would like to get the most light output and would probably go with a 6000k system. Everyone seems to recommend DDM tuning and they seem reputable. Does anyone know of any reputable headlight sellers?

Ive got plenty more questions and would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!
Welcome. The world of HID is filled with many different options from cheap to high quality and everything in between. Most of the aftermarket halogen projector headlights do have a separate bulb for high beam, probably the projectors you are looking at online.

But for HID, you need to retrofit a projector specfically designed for HID bulbs which unfortunately you cannot purchase pre-made. You can either pay somebody to do the labor (expensive, but many reputable places) or you can do the labor yourself (if you are handy with basic tools, a dremel, and aren't afraid of a little hands-on trial and error). Check out this thread with links to all kinds of examples:

You will likely get your products at theretrofitsource.com, by far the highest quality HID equipment out there besides OEM.

LOL. Have you ever experienced a real HID projector retrofit? I would say no since you believe they are overrated. I've used the PnP crap before, its junk. Real HIDs are literally 100 times better. Projectors are far from overrated, but blue ricer glare in a nice F150 definitely is...

But if you still believe the cheapo stuff is legit, lets see an output picture of your lights against a wall for comparison.

If you wanna spend hundreds to have your pretty cut off lines, more power to you lol, it was a cheap mod for me that is wayyyyy brighter than my stock lights were. oh and projector headlights don't look ricey?

I'm not going to hate you for using those cheap ones, nor tell you what to do: it's your truck, do what you want. But making statements like "projectors are overrated" without any experience with them or without decent education on the topic is silly. The fact that you think its just a nice cutoff tells me you really have no clue how much different the performance is between them.

The guys who put fart-cans and wings on their civics are the same who put the chinese PnP HID systems in. 90% of the time you see the blue glare it is on a vehicle like that. So yes, thats ricey to me. You find HID projectors on Mercedes, Lexus, BMW, Maseratti, supercars etc. German engineering isn't ricer in my mind, but again we clearly see things differently...

How do they look ricey? Your 8000k ricer glare lights are going to be utterly useless in the rain/snow. It seems the f150 has become the new honda civic as most mods are incorporating ebay garbage mods, double stick tape, or spray paint.

Yeah I don't know much, besides they are expensive and I'd rather put the money on other mods, just tired of hearing ppl bash the PnP, they are 1000x better than the stock bulbs. (Mission complete..for me) and that's a reason I don't like them, bc they are on cars you mentioned....not f150's

They look like the go on an Audi/BMW is more of what I was trying to say. I live in Fla so Idk about snow....rain I know a lot about and again they work 1000x better than stock, even in the rain.

So i supposed you think the 2012 Ford Mustang GT, Chevy Camaro SS, and Dodge Challenger RT are all rice-mobiles because they all come with factory HID projectors? You hate those cars too? LOL.

Good point up there^^, if you ever drive in rain you might want to consider 4300k-5000k bulbs, it does really make a difference in piercing fowl weather.
