Just throwing out an idea, not based on having the issue. When I made a gear ratio change on my 2011 I had to also do a PCM relearn to get rid of the codes. There is a function using Forscan for the relearn, but my understanding is unhooking the battery does the same thing. While not likely, perhaps making the TBC changes warrants a relearn for some reason.

hell it’s worth a shot. And disconnecting the battery is easy enough

It’ll clear but it comes right back like a hard code.

im so frustrated with this whole thing... I was toyota tech for years and I consider myself somewhat capable but if I have to bring to Ford for this BS I’m gonna be bent

Yes sir I do have power at the fuse. Someone in another thread said I had to disconnect something from under the dash for my auto start/stop.... not sure why that would do anything

That's the problem with "help" from a forum.it can range from knowledgeable to nothing more than some drunk with a keyboard passing time on the internet.

About the auto stop start to disable it you unplug a connection on the brake controller under the dash but that's for a different thread

I'm curious I saw you posted that you bought a second controller, where they both JUNK knockoffs? or OEM genuine controllers? Been a couple of posts how the knockoffs just don't work.

They are not from Ford... Ive read both bad and good reviews. There was definitely something wrong with the first one because it didn't light up. This replacement one does. I dont want to buy an Ford one if im gonna have the same issues. I'm literally about to just put an aftermarket one in like my OBS has. I wanted a clean install but this is turning into a headache.

Did anyone figure out which one from Ford is the correct one? because reading thru here there seams to be a lot of mixed opinions.

Thanks for the follow-up I do not believe I've seen a post yet that has had success with those knockoff controllers.
Looks like you either spend $150 for a Tekonsha P3 + harness or $159 for a Ford OEM
Ford Trailer Brake Control | F150, F250, F350, F450 | OEM Ford Parts
