I need all of us with facebook and a good knowledge of payload and how it relates to towing to join the group EcoBoost 3.5L Enthusiasts. I swear those punks on there are about as dumb as they get and treat anyone with any actual knowledge as if they are there to ruin the page. They hate the truth. They all claim to be safely towing 13000 pounds and 38" TT's. They will not listen to reason. So even if you don't have a 3.5Eco, join the group please ! We gotta make the roads safer before they kill us all before the end of the summer !

Try being an admin in an RV camping group. Petulant adults, when faced with facts that their tundra can't actually tow their 10,000lb TT with kayaks on the roof and 4 adult passengers just say "no issues ever, don't worry, we're fine". You may be fine, but the moment something happens, you better pray you're alone on the road. I love the "towed our 38' bumper pull thru the rockies with our v8 titan with no issues, couldn't even feel it back there"...……...yeah, that's bulls* and you know it. I don't care what you're towing with, you feel a 38' bumper pull behind you, even with a F350 diesel.

I've started calling the whole movement acts of selfishness. Ignorance of how to accurately calculate towing capacity (which is pretty clear in the owner's manual) or just doing whatever the hell you want is purely selfish. We share the road with others. When you disregard ratings and do what you want, you're negligently putting others at risk for your own selfish reasons. "but the dealer told me it could tow 12,000lbs". Well son, the dealer isn't personally responsible for your actions, is it?

it's funny you mention this. I recently had a brief exchange with a much wiser, older individual on another forum about his new Ram 2500 gas. I asked about the door stickers and he says "it doesn't have the little yellow sticker"
Then posts this:
As this one is configured.

Maximum towing - 19,780 lbs.
Maximum payload - 3,987 lbs.

Specs change with axle ratios, motor, etc.
LMAO, but his specific 3/4 ton has a GVWR 8565#

So you know the payload has to be relatively low. Other online sources put it at around 1500# for his truck. And he thinks it's near 4k and almost 20k pounds towing

I can only handle so much. I get most of my info here and most folks here are fairly level headed so forgive me for not wanting to join that group. I'm already in like 9 other FB groups most of them are either fishing, kayaking or modding trailers to carry said yaks and I barely can keep up ALL of my towing needs are here and I like it here so I've yet find anyone bad enough wanting to leave as most folks here are civil and do provide constructive criticism. We all judge as do I because we're human, although some judge louder and I judge with a smirk, so there I said it, safe travels all!

Join a FB group just to argue? Someone needs to get a life.

I wouldn't concern myself with that. Of all my years, I've seen only one RV accident, and I believe they are probably the least likely vehicle involved in crashes.

yeah. When 22 year old kids talk smack about how everyone is a bunch of p*ssies because they used to tow 13,000lbs with a 2005 5.4 "with no issues" and should be "no problem for your 5.0", but have zero concept about weight limits and ratings....that's when you know we're all screwed.
At that point I just say "warn us when you get on the road so everyone can avoid your dangerous ***".
