Four years ago lol at least many called him on it. But isn't it scary to think that idiots with half tons are rolling at 75 mph in the dark weighing 24k lbs openly admitting that stopping is a problem and hard braking isn't really an option?
"The Tundra is the ultimate towing beast. There is NO limit to what you can tow with this truck. It towed the Space Shuttle. The more you overload this truck, the better it performs
Just joking! What the OP did was extremely dangerous---no matter how one tries to justify or rationalize it"
"Really? Exceptionally overloaded AND way too fast??? I'm glad you didn't have any issues, but this is an exceptionally POOR decision. I can't believe anybody here is actually condoning this..."
"Secondly, I can appreciate your predicament......3/4 ton is too rough riding for your back, but you've got a huge load to haul, etc. That's when you call a moving company to move your stuff for you, or you make 2 trips.
Because the reality of the situation is this: Does your truck have enough power to pull it? Yep. Is it going to overheat the trans? Possibly. But is the *rest* of the truck up to task having 17,500# of weight behind it? HELL NO it's not. "
"As someone who pulls 8.5'x24' rated for 14K pounds, there is way in hell I would drive that fast. You are one tire blow out or public idiot driver away from a tragic crash.
Just because you have the drivetrain to pull that kind of weight doesn't make it a reasonable choice to do so. I put EXTRA HEAVY SLOTTED AND DRILLED TRILER BRAKES on my Tundra and, while great brakes they are the weak link along with rear frame when SHTF issues arise.
Like the Uhaul trailer towing minivans and compact cars that are upside down in the median, massively overloaded Tundras are one OOPS away from joining them.
If you insist on doing this yourself, make #&%$@! sure the trailer is properly load balanced and drive slowly. When you top a hill on the Interstate to see all lanes totally stopped, you are going to be glad you are doing 45mph instead of 75. Good luck on catastrophic tire blow out because, good luck is the only thing that will save you. I am speaking from personal experience too."

Darwin at work, stupid leading the stupid, internet bullies trolling who would otherwise cower in a corner when presented with someone who wont put up with their crap face to face.
Yeah, that farcebook. Works good for storing pics for quick forum posting, but otherwise nothing but a bunch of fools. Just for kicks I like to post Trump. Nothing more, just Trump, to pi$$ off all the whiners. Occasionally some fool will take the bait, then half my family and friends jumps all over them. It's a laugh riot.

I do farm memes from FB, hopefully the CIA doesn't track meme thieves.

this towing stuff is a big deal to me, and it should be a big deal to everyone else.
Said idiots are indeed one oops away from a tragic accident....and it could affect any number of innocent folks oblivious to the fact that these idiots are just acting selfishly. That's NOT OK. If you share the road with others, your *** should be responsible for following limits. period.

I very rarely post anything on FB and only slightly less rarely comment. I have NEVER had an argument on FB, not even a debate. It's just not worth my time. I do however admin a group of about 100 folks local to my community. I have had to discipline a few folks for "preaching". But it's worked quite well, especially since "The Great Cleansing" I removed nearly 500 members that didn't live in our community but were invited by members. I now personally approve each new member. Keeps out the riff-raff.

I have a few I created, SIG Brotherhood(planes, not guns), and the B-17E restoration page. I had another but it didn't go anywhere.
When people are held responsible for their actions and actually TAKE the blame instead of trying to pawn it off on others, the way society has become ( Mcdonalds coffee comes to mind) so it's someone elses fault today that people don't care any more.

I was just bitching this morning to a buddy about the Jeep Liberty CRD group on Facebook. Its a 104" wheelbase 4200 lb SUV. But OMG it has a diesel so it can tow the Titanic.
And by diesel I means its a 160hp/300ft-lbs 2.8L 4 cylinder. lol.
And TBH I have towed with it a number of times and it does pretty well from a stability standpoint. I would actually say the engine is the weak point, even tuned.

It’s kinda hard to balance it all out, and one thing that’s always impossible to know is what limitations every driver might have.
I’m an old farm kid, and I’ve pulled more stuff with other stuff than I can remember, but I do know when I’m at that point where I’ll say “enough”.
We have those half tonners that swear a goose necked trailer with 15,000 pounds of bales is good to go. I’m guessing that most of those guys text while driving as well, and usually have a good supply of drivin’ whiskey in the cab.
We also have those hair on fire types that insist that anything over 2500 pounds should be hooked to a diesel fueled, 3/4 or 1 ton duality. Some of these guys would like to see road blocks and DOT enforcement of anyone that might look pale and thin, because they can’t be man enough to drive a “real” truck.
I guess it just boils down to hooking up right, both hands on the wheel, and drive a heckuva lot slower than you think you should. If everyone would just shut their yap and follow those simple guidelines, the world would be a happier place.
