No, no. I wasn't very clear in my OP. The dealer is wanting $350 installed.

Since the factory is less than the P3, just go factory and Forscan.

So, that looks to be the smart play. Now, the Fordscan thing. I know there is a thread on here about it all but, i'm still a little unclear, can I set up the B/C with my cell phone?

No. FORScan via cell phone has no programming abilities.

So basically, I buy this, download the software to my PC, plug in the FORScan to the USB on my PC and it downloads everything to the B/C, then I install in my truck?

Almost...you install the controller into your truck and then update your trucks BCM module register values so that it knows that the controller is now present.

You update the BCM modules register values using the OBDII adapter/PC/Forscan combo.

In other words you plug the adapter into you trucks OBDII port just under the steering column and make the change using Forscan.

If this seems too intimidating there might be another member located close to you with Forscan experience that can help you out for little or nothing.

But honestly once you see how straightforward it is to do you might change your mind....

Thanks. I will do some more research. So, I will need a laptop plugged into the truck/Forscan to do this, correct?

Yes, the OBDII to USB adapter is just that. It is the adapter between your laptop's USB port and your truck's OBDII port.
