oh alright. i grounded the non-working light to the frame. and i even tried moving it around and it still didnt work.. if i uploaded a picture could you point out any obvious mistakes?

Take the light off and touch the wires directly to the terminals on the battery. That'll let you know if your light even works.

thats precisely how i know ive done something wrong.. tuna did you hook the green wire directly to the battery?

well looks like it was the ground for the respective light. i guess the frame is coated. thanks for the help though guys

sorry just reading now. sometimes there's not enough conductivity with certain grounding locations. you can grind the surface to bring the bare metal through then use liquid electrical tape to seal the ground.

do you the type of switch that you have? damn radioshack didnt have the 3way switch so i dont know where to get one now. short of the internet anyway

Most hardware stores should have them also.

As for grounding. I grounded my reverse lights by taking out a couple of the bumper support bolts and slipped a connector over them. Tightened everything back up and not a problem since, even after 2' of water and mud.

^as did I. I didn't use 3 way switched as in switches with 3 different modes. just an on/off switch. if your radio shack doesnt have that they should close their doors.

Cool, most three ways are "on/off/on" so you can turn them on whenever (tailgaters), off no matter what, and then ON with reverse lights. X2 on radioshack not having them

yeah i didnt exactly know what its called but the on/off/on is what i mean.. yeah its sad i know haha.. all they had were the crappy toggle switches. thanks for your help though. its a DPDT switch btw
