My NSX when I bought it had 5% over the rear and sides and 20% over the entire windshield. That sucked at night time. looked badass during the day, but that was about it.

20% on the sides and back. 50% on the windshield. Wish I would have gotten the sides a little darker but I was scared it would stand out too much against the race red. The 50% on the windshield is perfect. Just enough to cut some glare during the day and doesn't hamper night vision.

That is not technically possible.

You might want to upgrade the headlights with the windshield tint. But, the headlights suck without windshield tint. Unless you have vision issues...
the 50% is not going to hamper your night vision much. It's fine....in some ways I feel you can almost goto 35%-40% on the windshield. But I didint want to go that dark on the windshield.

I went back and had them do a small straight sun strip. I don't like the looks of the curved strips or strips that come too far down. This one is more for function than looks. Unfortunately the thicker strips have more coverage. I can't stand them being much below the AS1 line and to have a legal strip, you pretty much have to get a straight strip cause the curved ones will drop below no matter how high they put it. To cut it straight, they have to cut it curved usually with a computerized plotter since a curve is hard to cut by hand. Straight tint will end up as a curved when layed on the windshield. I probably could've gone an inch lower. This is at the AS1 line.

Straight 5% Windshield Strip over 50%

Cutting down on the sun and headlight glare is actually a safety upgrade. And 50% is not dark. I even asked the tinter if the tint was on when he had me come back in the shop to look at the windshield. I wouldn't go any lower than 35% on a windshield tho.

Depends what your going for. The cops don't care about my 50%. Been pulled over twice and they didint notice. My 30% on the front windows has been fine too as far as that. I would do 35% but don't want to have to end up peeling it. I did it more for the UV and glare than "blacking out" the truck. 50% is usually the lighest they go in the color-stable dyed films. You can spend the big bucks and go ceramic. And in those you can get 70% and 80% UV blocker films. Which I would go with if I had to take the 50% off.

I had 35% ceramic on my 150, and now have it on my Tacoma. I did get pulled over for it in my 150, and my front door windows metered at 2% lol. I love dark windshields. Helps so much with glare
