SCT was the baby of a local guy here in Mobile. His name is Chris Johnson and he started SCT. These guys in the software tune game collaborate with each other to come up with the best why, the only way to get a product to market as fast as they do.The factory has unlimited resources and people to invent the products .The after market companies have to use their heads to figure a way to make it work in a manner that was not in the invention process.Sct is a Ford base product and Hptuners was GM.Now Hpt is working on the Ecoboost.
I started out with the Diablosport predators four years ago and ended up with there CMR's (custom software)for both Ford and GM.I have spent a ton of cash and time all because this tuning stuff is so new of an industry.
I bought my first dyno three years ago and am just now know enough to take the leap in the tuning game.
hope this helps

So not a choice to choose Bullydog, I am trying one out in a day or two.. Who likes them anyone? I like the 30 days trial and your satisfied or a refund. Thats a lot of confidence in your product. I will find out how it goes so far Hypertech was a big fat zero. Returned it so I am trying this bullydog tuner. If this dont work maybe I will give 5star a ring, I will see how this goes...

I'm currently looking at the programers. I'm trying to choose between the sct x3 or the livewire flasher. With custom tunes of 87 89 91 all performance. I do tow from time to time but usually only my four wheelers. I was also thinking of getting the upgrade maf sensor from vmp tuning and was wondering if that would be a good upgrade to invest in at the moment. I'm currently running a 2011 F150 SC 5.0L 4x4 lifted 6" with 35x12.5R20 Procomp extreme, with 3.73 gears, with aFe CAI, Throttle body spacer, and Cat back exhaust. I'm averaging about 17 mpg around where I live with this current setup. I plan on either adding a super charger or turbo charging my truck. Also was wondering where I pull the computer code from on my truck. I have a hypertech programmer that came with the truck. That lets me change my gear ratio and tire size on my truck. Would I be able to get the number off that or is it some place else? Thanks for the help guys!

So I picked up the bullydog triple today. Hooked it up, wish I had somewhere to go to test it out.. Anyone else use this? I am intersted in the Fuel mileage wizard to see how that works out. I loaded the updates from Bully and installed and set it up for 91 ( I use 91 as I get better mileage) so I want to see it do something. But tomorrow taking the boat to the lake so I will see if it does anything while towing. Small screen is probably my only complaint so far....

Follow up now. So installed Bullydog GT tuner, pain in the *** compared to Hypertech ( I used last). Had to find a switched power the cable the give you goes to plus 12 volts switched. Then you have another cable it is short and not felxible and diificult to arrange. It is installed now, run installation on truck, then un-install for update then re-install. Now I look it says 2009 F150, I said "crap mines a 2010". Un-installed would not let me re-install so completely removed program to start over. Got it in still said 2009 only option. So "hello Bullydog tech support" They said "yes it says 2009 but it really is for a 2010 it just says that."Well ok I will re-install, so I re-load program and picked 2009 and proceed with 91 Octane install Set tires for 33.75 and rest of settings normal. Now go to work, the gauge screen I setup says 99MPG now I know the products good I get 99MPG so I figure 3600 miles per tank... LOL yea right.. So a couple other things are not working on teh bullydog gauge.. So hello tech support, "ok yes we know of the problem no your trucks not getting 99MPG I will email you some file to add to the SD card but first completly remove and un-install program"... Ok back out and un-install which takes about 15 minutes and this is the third time. Take it out add files to flash drive and re-install and upgrade firmware. Back out re-install, 15 minutes... So I re-run program and set everything up again... So I have no where to go right now but I will update as soon as I try it out... Mike at 5star when I call just say its on its way... But I am trying my last shot for Bullydog we shall see....

I've been doing a lot of research for which tune to get. Everyone swears by a custom sct tune. I contacted a few dealers that do custom tunes for the 3.7 and they say max gains I would expect are around 30 hp and 20 tq. Superchips has a rating of 45hp and 28tq. If custom tunes are better than canned, why does the superchips have bigger gains?
