If custom tunes are better than canned, why does the superchips have bigger gains?
Marketing, different dynos, and different conditions can account for the differences. They also don't tell you if they locked/which gear the run was done in. A reputable tuner with experience and I repeat a reputable tuner with experience doing custom tunes will make better and safer gains than a canned tune.

Thanks for the info. I'm still unsure what to get. I had a highly modified vw jetta turbo with a canned tune. I was more than happy with the results. I'm really just looking for better throttle response and any power would be a bonus. I hate drive by wire throttle.

So done testing the bullydog gt gas tuner... DONT BUY IT!!!!.... It caused nothing but problems and my TPMS sensor keeps comming on, no previous history of that.... So tech support says, well it cant be anything with the tuner... hmm, thats all that I changed before my problems... Took it back to Goodies speed shop San Jose and Today talked to the manager and got the full credit... Thanks

Default hptuners

I am note a "Tuner"i am however opening a dyno shop now.I am doing a MPG based program to start .We have a bunch of equipment and just need to sort out the tech.details.I gues i'll have to to it myself because we just cant find help that is worth sh#t.
i started out with Diablosport and have the burners and CMR's for Ford and GM.i sold over a dozen dyno's this year with hope of selling tuner software with.Long story short HpTuners is a much easier group to do business with. They answer all contacts promptly and jump threw hoops to help.I will of coarse be a dealer some day.For now i have to have a sign made and make some cash to pay for all this

So basically you are saying that HpTuners has good customer service. That's good, but this thread is more relevant to people using tuners/programmers and how they are used.

I almost won an auction on an SCT this past monday. It was going for $100 all week. Knew it was too good to last! ended up going for around $250. Still a steal though.

Are there any online dealers for Custom SCT tunes? Or do you physically have to go to one so they can use your truck?

If I'm not going to use a canned tune, is there any need to spend the extra money on the SCT SF3? Is the X3 just the same thing without the canned tunes?

I have an Edge Evolution CS, it looks great with the dash pod mount! I put it on less than a week ago, so I have not experienced all types of driving yet. I have increased my MPG by 1.5 in town, to 15.4. I think it will do better as time goes on (I have been in the accelerator some to see how it has changed).
