They didn't want you debadging their trucks. And the super crew doors are interchangeable with expeditions.

You can take these trucks offroad just not fast desert racing like the raptors.
Ford didnt make an offroad specific truck like the raptor for the 97-03,when they built the truck they had to make it for a wide range of people from daily driving to hauling, if you want an offroad capable truck you can get an fx4, but there still no desert runner...
Instead, we had a badass street truck, the Lightning.

I just want to make it clear that I am not doing this to be a long travel set up. It is only gonna have about 6" of travel just like the newer trucks now have but ride a ton better. My truck right now has about 4" of travel so I'm only adding two inches of travel so the geometry capabilities will be no problem. All I am doing this for is because I want my truck to ride like my friends 2005 F150 and I had the coilovers already so it's not costing me anything really to try. If it doesn't work, oh well. I will just weld in the old shock bucket and put the torsion bars back in.

Your beloved manufacturer Chevy has been using torsion bars in their HD pickups holding up duramax's on IFS long after Ford threw the bars out the window...

Ya and because of that chevys always sit low in the front and tend to wear much faster with snow plows on the front end

Diesels and torsions little to much weight for bars in my opinion but ya everything is kinda getting way off topic.....

Yeah it got way off topic. I still want to see how viable this is.

been looking at doing this too. was thinking of using a hoop as the upper mount and a set of king or fox coilovers. the geometery is my main concern so it'll be good to see what you do
